Reservation Deposit and Payment
At YamaYado Hub, we ask for your cooperation through a fixed reservation deposit rather than a cancellation fee.
Because mountain trips are easily affected by the weather, you may change your booking date up until 3:00 PM on the day of stay, as long as it is for the same mountain hut, and your reservation deposit will be carried over to the new date.
Please note that the reservation deposit is not an extra charge. If you stay as booked, it will be treated as part of your accommodation fee and will not be added separately.
Reservation Deposit Amount
- Mountain hut stay: JPY 3,000 per adult per night
- Tent stay: JPY 500 per adult per night
- Children and infants: JPY 0
When the Reservation Deposit Applies
As shown in the chart above, the reservation deposit applies to a regular cancellation only when both of the following conditions are met:
- More than 1 hour has passed since the booking was completed
- The cancellation is made on or after 30 days before the stay date
If you cancel within 1 hour after booking, the reservation deposit does not apply.
It also does not apply if you cancel 31 days or more before the stay date.
Changing Your Stay Date
You may change your stay date up until 3:00 PM on the day of stay, as long as it is for the same mountain hut.
If you change your date, the reservation deposit will be carried over to the new date.
- Date changes are available only for bookings at the same mountain hut
- The deadline for changes is 3:00 PM on the day of stay
- You may change your booking up to 10 times
- Changes are available only within the same season and subject to the applicable conditions
Cancellations
For a regular cancellation, only the reservation deposit will be charged, depending on the conditions.
Please note that the reservation deposit is non-refundable regardless of the reason, including bad weather or illness.
- Regular cancellation: only the reservation deposit applies, depending on the conditions
- Cancellation after 3:00 PM on the day of stay: 100% of the accommodation fee
- No-show: 100% of the accommodation fee
If you stay as booked, the reservation deposit will not be charged separately.
It is treated as part of the accommodation fee.
Card Registration and Payment Process
The payment process from booking to your stay is as follows.
1. At the Time of Booking
- A credit card must be registered
- No immediate charge is made at the time of booking
2. After Booking / If You Cancel
- Your card may be checked for validity, and a temporary hold on your available limit may be placed
- If you cancel, only the reservation deposit will be charged, depending on the conditions
3. When You Stay
- The accommodation fee is charged at check-in
- The reservation deposit is not an extra charge; it is treated as part of the accommodation fee
Note
With debit cards or prepaid cards, this may appear as a temporary charge, but it may later be reversed or released.
