It was my first time in the Northern Alps and my first time staying at a mountain hut. Although it’s an old mountain hut, it was spotlessly clean, and I had a very pleasant stay. I’m looking forward to staying there again.

The hamburger steak for dinner was really delicious. Both the room and the lounge/dining area were clean, and the view from the window was great. My only regret was that there was no heating in the drying room, so I couldn’t dry my clothes. My husband, who stayed here last year during rainy weather, said it was the same then, so I wish they would at least turn on the heat so we could dry our clothes when it rains.

I’m always grateful that there’s a mountain lodge here. I enjoyed a leisurely time at Hakuba Oike, where the grass is beginning to turn red and the scenery is gradually shifting to that of autumn. I was also grateful that I could use Wi-Fi.

It's a cozy little mountain cabin! It has that classic "mountain cabin" vibe! Maybe because my room was right next to the restroom, I could smell it a little even while I was sleeping, which was a bit unpleasant! Well, it is a mountain cabin, so I guess it can't be helped, but I think it would be even better if they could do something about it. The food was delicious, and there was a gift shop—that was great!

This was my first time staying at this mountain lodge, and although I’ve been coming here for three years in a row, it seems the staff no longer smile when serving guests. That alone completely changes my impression of the place. Please focus on providing great customer service ☺️

It was my first time visiting, but I got the impression they might be a little short-staffed. I went to the concession stand near the reception desk to buy a beer, but one of the employees told me the reception desk was busy and to wait. So I waited, and then another person showed up, so the three of us were waiting. After quite a while, they finally told us, “You can buy it right away at the concession stand over there…” We all said, “If that’s the case, you should’ve told us sooner!” So we went to the other kiosk, but the clerk—perhaps busy preparing dinner—took our money and immediately walked away, serving us in a rather curt manner. It left a bad impression.

Although the buildings at Oike Mountain Lodge are old, they’re kept very clean, which made for a pleasant stay. The restrooms were comfortable, too. It was helpful that we could bring our own drinking water. The meals were delicious, and overall, it was a comfortable stay. When we were leaving the lodge, the staff pointed out some things we should watch out for along the way. It’s always nice to receive that kind of thoughtful attention.

I often smell feces, which makes me want to open the window, but if I don't, it gets too hot. I'm not sure if there's a way to solve this problem. Other than that, the food is delicious, and the staff are very friendly. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
