The campground attendant was very courteous ✨ The site we used for tent camping was flat and easy to stake down, and it was well-maintained, so we were able to fully enjoy the field of alpine flowers. The outdoor restroom was close by and very clean 👍️

The check-in process was polite and smooth. Since it was a Friday, there weren’t many tents, so I was able to choose a comfortable spot. The scenery was magnificent, and it was quiet with no wind. I slept very well. I saw someone pitching a tent by the pond, but there was a “No Tents Beyond This Point” sign right in front of it, so I wonder if they were breaking the rules? Still, they were within the green rope boundary.

All the staff provided excellent customer service. In particular, the female staff member at the front desk was wonderful—she was polite and always had a smile on her face. Another female staff member spoke fluent English; I heard she practices conversational English with native speakers on social media late into the night, and I really admire her behind-the-scenes efforts. Thank you for keeping the facility and the bedding so clean. It would have been even better if there had been a shower.

We set out in the rain that day, and the hike took longer than expected, so we didn’t arrive until around 6:00 PM. The staff were friendly and efficient, and they kindly provided us with helpful information about the next day’s weather and hiking distance. Both dinner and breakfast were satisfying, with generous portions and great flavor. Since we were the only group staying that night, the entire hut felt incredibly spacious, and the small drying room was able to accommodate all of our rain gear. The sleeping area was clean, the blankets were nice and thick, and the pillows were firm with just the right height. As is typical with most wooden mountain huts, footsteps from other guests can cause some vibrations and noise. Overall, however, we were highly satisfied. It is a wonderful and reassuring place to get a good night’s rest.

I stayed here in a tent on Saturday, June 27. The campground was very well-maintained, flat, and I slept very comfortably. The restrooms were also very clean. I wasn’t fit enough to climb Mt. Shōrenge this time, so I’d like to come back for another try.

I think it would be even better if there were curtains separating each space—even just halfway—to give it a more private feel. The restrooms were very clean, which was great.

The campsite is in a fantastic location, right in front of a flower field. It takes about 4 hours to reach Mt. Hakuba from here, but you can enjoy beautiful scenery even just by taking a stroll along the way to Mt. Shorenge. In early July, there was still some snow, and there were spots along the trail to Mt. Hakuba where we had to walk on snow. (Crampons weren’t necessary.) The ground at the campsite is a mix of soil and rocks, so I recommend using sturdy tent stakes. There are a few rocks you can use as weights, but not many. Also, while you shouldn’t waste water, the abundance of water from the pond is a huge help for cooking and preventing heatstroke. The restrooms are kept clean by the staff, making them very comfortable to use. Starting this year, they’ve implemented a system where you register various details online in advance, so on the day of your visit, all you had to do was scan a QR code to complete check-in—it was very convenient.

It was a wonderful location, surrounded by flowers on the banks of a beautiful pond. When we finally arrived at the cabin, we were greeted by the staff’s warm hospitality and enjoyed a delicious dinner. We stayed in a spacious four-person dormitory room where we were able to rest comfortably. At night, I photographed the stars, and in the morning, after taking pictures of the flower fields bathed in the sunrise, I enjoyed a bento lunch. It included fried salmon, pickled plums, and other side dishes—it was delicious.
