Since the rainy season ended late this year, it was a huge help that I could make up to 10 changes. It coincided perfectly with the end of the rainy season, allowing me to fully enjoy a wonderful traverse of the Hakuba Three Peaks. In terms of facilities, I was impressed by the clean restrooms equipped with Washlet bidets. The pillows in the room were small, and my head kept falling off the pillow every time I rolled over. Also, the mattress was thin, so it wasn’t very comfortable to sleep on.
From StaffWe're glad we could accommodate your reservation change, and that it lined up perfectly with the end of the rainy season for a wonderful traverse of the Hakuba Sanzan peaks. Glad the washlet-equipped restroom impressed you too. At the same time, we're sorry the pillow and mattress caused some discomfort. We'll take this feedback into account as we look at improvements. We hope to welcome you back to the mountains of Hakuba, in the Japanese Alps.

I thought the food and the staff’s service were excellent. However, the room I stayed in wasn’t very clean—there was a lot of what looked like mold on the walls, and a small centipede-like insect appeared, so I ended up squashing it. I just couldn’t bring myself to take that piece of trash home with me, so I’m sorry I left it there and went home. It was too hot to sleep, so I would have preferred a blanket and a slightly thinner comforter. Since you can adjust them…
From StaffThank you for the kind words about the food and our staff's service. At the same time, we're sorry the condition of your room, both the wall and the insect, caused you discomfort. We've also noted your comment about the bedding being too warm. We'll use this feedback to make improvements going forward. We hope to welcome you back to the mountains of Hakuba, in the Japanese Alps.

When I checked in, I asked to upgrade my dinner and enjoyed a beef stew course meal at Sky Plaza. It had been foggy all day, but just as evening fell, the fog cleared, revealing the full views of Mt. Shakushi and Mt. Hakuba-Yarigatake. To top it off, Mt. Tsurugi even peeked out from behind the clouds, making for an absolutely wonderful experience. The newly renovated restrooms were also clean and very nice.
From StaffWe're glad you upgraded to the beef stew course at Sky Plaza for dinner and enjoyed it. What a moment, having the fog clear at just the right time to reveal Shakushidake, Hakuba Yarigatake, and even Tsurugidake. Glad the newly renovated restroom was to your liking as well. We hope to welcome you back to the mountains of Hakuba, in the Japanese Alps.

Hakuba Sanso doesn't have a bath, so I can't rate that aspect. Other than that, it was excellent. The restrooms in Building 2 were very clean, and I was really impressed by the Washlet.
From StaffWe're glad the restroom in Building 2 felt clean and well kept, and that the washlet impressed you. It's encouraging to hear. We hope to welcome you back to the mountains of Hakuba, in the Japanese Alps.

The food and service were both excellent, and I had a very pleasant stay. The only downside was that the sleeping area was a bit cramped.

I was really impressed by the toilet with a Washlet. There was no unpleasant odor, and it was very comfortable. It was hard to believe we were up on a mountain. However, it was a shame that the floor of the washroom in front of the restroom was wet. Especially after meals or brushing my teeth, my socks would get wet no matter where I stepped. If there were something like a mop nearby, anyone who noticed it could wipe it up, and I think people watching that would be more careful when using the restroom.
We're glad the washlet-equipped restroom impressed you, and that it felt surprisingly comfortable for a mountain hut. It's encouraging to hear that. At the same time, we're sorry the wet floor near the restroom left your socks damp. We'll take your suggestion about a mop on hand into account going forward. We hope to welcome you back to the mountains of Hakuba, in the Japanese Alps.
