I stayed in Room 16, a Japanese-style room in Building 2. The self-catering kitchen was right next door, and the dining hall and restrooms were also nearby, which was very convenient. It was a very clean mountain lodge, the meals were delicious, and my husband and children were delighted with the comfort of the restrooms, which had Washlet bidets. However, the futons were narrow and thin, and the comforters were also thin, so even in late August, we were cold at night with just one futon and one comforter per person. Since I’ve rarely stayed in mountain huts, this might be standard, but I think we would have been able to rest more thoroughly with slightly sturdier bedding. My child loved the cheesecake at Sky Plaza—which we’d been looking forward to—so much that we had another slice after dinner while enjoying the view of Mt. Tsurugi and the sunset. Thanks to you, we were able to enjoy a safe and memorable mountain climb. Thank you very much.

We used this facility during the Super Mountaineering Club live event. Above all, the restrooms were clean, and it was great that we were able to use the water. I also recommend Sky Plaza because it’s a great place to relax. The beef stew was delicious, too. Thank you very much.

This was my first time staying here. Since it had been a hike on a day with heavy rain and strong winds, my body had started to get cold by the time I arrived at the lodge. I was so grateful when the staff handed me a cup of hot water, telling me, “You can keep your rain gear on—just come inside quickly.” To my surprise, the room had tatami mats; it was a very cozy space with the scent of wood, and I was able to rest comfortably.

I’ve stayed here many times before, but this was my first time using a small private room for two. While I like the large rooms too, the partitioned space for two was different from the large rooms—it made it much more comfortable to organize our luggage and change clothes. I’ll treasure the 120th-anniversary sticker.

Perhaps because there was an event that day, or maybe because they were too busy to focus on customer service, the service felt rather robotic.

Every time I visit, I’ve noticed wonderful improvements—like the addition of Washlet toilets—and the fact that I can choose a private room that ensures my privacy even when I’m alone. It really feels like it’s becoming more and more like a hotel. The live music package was excellent, but since this mountain lodge is known for its fantastic dinners, I found the bento box a bit of a letdown—even though I know it’s understandable (I know I’m being a bit picky). Still, the staff were kind and efficient, so overall, it was a very positive experience.

I stayed here to catch the Super Mountaineering Club’s live performance. It was my first time staying in the building with the front desk. It was a little cold. The toilets had Washlet features, which was very comfortable. It was a shame that nothing dried in the drying room. I was dissatisfied with the way the woman at the front desk gave instructions. When I lifted my backpack off the floor, the bear bell rang, so I set the backpack on a chair for a moment to take it off right away—but she immediately said, “Sir! Please don’t let the bear bell ring. Please do not place your backpack on the chair.” She said this about a second after I set it down. I wasn’t walking around ringing the bell the whole time, and since she was able to say that so immediately after it went off—and I was already trying to take it off—I assume she saw and understood what was happening. Her tone, which sounded like she was cracking down on the bear bell, made me feel uncomfortable. When I was shivering from the cold after coming down the mountain, surely there could have been a different way to say it. Precisely because everyone else had been so kind, that one remark was particularly disappointing.

I stayed with the Super Mountaineering Club during their live event. I was especially happy that they remembered I had stayed with them last year and reached out to me. On top of that, they even prepared a special meal for me. I’m truly grateful. To be honest, this hike is a bit challenging for me, but I’ll train for another year and definitely hope to visit again next year.

I stayed at the mountain lodge despite the bad weather. When they found me shivering from the cold, they brought me warm water several times and even covered me with a blanket. I can’t thank the staff enough. The meals were delicious. I ate my packed lunch at Oike, and thanks to that, I didn’t run out of energy and was able to make it down the mountain safely. It was my first time staying at a mountain cabin. I found it strange that you can't lock the door from the outside when you go out. Other than that, I think it was great.
