It’s a mountain cabin by the pond that looks very charming from the outside. I think it would be great if there were a bench and a table by the pond where you could sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. If flying cars become a reality in the future, this place could become a popular resort destination. It’s often fully booked, so I wish it were a little easier to make a reservation.

Last year, we hiked straight from Tsugaike to Hakuba Sanso, but the weather turned bad in the afternoon and it was quite difficult, so this year we stayed at Oike to ensure a safer trip. One of my companions suffered a minor sprain at a spot just before Oike where there were lots of large rocks. Since we didn’t have any pain relief patches with us, I asked the staff at the mountain lodge reception if we could buy some. They didn’t have any for sale, of course, and just as I was feeling disappointed, they kindly gave me two from their first-aid kit, which was a huge help. From now on, I want to make sure I’m fully prepared for such accidents before heading into the mountains. We had a wonderful time and would love to visit again. Thank you for the lovely experience.

I booked the plan that included breakfast and dinner, but due to a change in my itinerary, I asked if breakfast could be changed to a boxed lunch. Since my stay was coming up soon and the hotel was fully booked, it was a huge help that they accommodated my request to switch to a boxed lunch. Thank you so much for accommodating my last-minute request.

I appreciated that they were careful not to pack the upper-level room to capacity. (It’s really hard to get in and out when there are six people up there.)

Since it was the busy season, other than the fact that there were six people per room, we had a very comfortable stay.

I’ve camped in a tent before. My stay at the lodge allowed me to enjoy a relaxed, leisurely, and elegant time. It became a truly precious memory. The wonderful scenery, the perfect timing, and the delicious meals— Thank you to all the staff.

It had been a while since I’d been to the Northern Alps. Since I didn’t have the stamina or leg strength to hike while carrying a tent, I stayed at the mountain hut on August 9. I was surprised by the steep price hike, but I paid up anyway to show my support. I’d rate the meals as “average,” but they were “pretty tasty.” They really gave me a boost of energy. The room normally sleeps five people with futons laid out, but since it was fully booked that day—with a capacity of six—it was packed to the brim with futons stacked on top of each other, though perhaps not quite as cramped as the mountain huts of old. Since I was by the wall, I only had to be mindful on one side, but I found myself wondering if I might wake up the person next to me (a foreign guy) or if I was unknowingly encroaching on his space—it reminded me a bit of the mountain huts of old.

If they could serve lunch at Sky Plaza earlier during the traverse from Oike (or expand the breakfast menu), it would make the round trip to Shakushi and Yari easier and more enjoyable.

I really enjoyed the meal. I was happy to be able to casually use the dining hall and coffee shop. I also appreciated having hot water and cold water available in the kettle. The staff were friendly and kind, always greeting me with a smile. Thank you very much.

The meal had already been served, and by the time I sat down, there was only a small amount of miso soup left in the pot, and it had gone cold—which was a shame. I’m sure they would have reheated it if I’d asked, but since I assumed they’d served it knowing it would get cold, I just ate it as it was. It was also a shame that there were no beverage vending machines. Since it’s a mountain lodge, I didn’t expect much beyond the bath, but there were a few minor points of dissatisfaction.
