Overall, it’s neat and clean. I was very impressed that the restrooms—despite being in a mountain hut—are equipped with Washlet bidets and feel very clean. I stayed in a private room, which was very clean and even had a power outlet that allowed me to charge my devices directly via USB. The bunk beds have higher ceilings than I expected. Because of this, it might be a bit of a hassle for people on the top bunks to climb up and down. You can charge your devices on the bunk beds, but there aren’t enough outlets for everyone, so please take turns. It might feel a bit cramped when the place is fully booked, but it’s about the standard size for a typical mountain lodge. It’s also great that they sell both water and hot water; being able to buy hot water without having to boil it yourself is very convenient. Dinner was curry, and you could get seconds; the portions were generous, but it would be nice to have a few more variety options. The self-catering area inside the lodge is a bit cramped and can only accommodate about two groups at a time. However, if the weather is nice, you can cook outdoors on the benches, so this might only be an issue when the weather is really bad. I didn’t use the drying room.

I was surprised at how clean the hotel was. It had been since 2019 since I last stayed there. The bathroom and restroom were clean, which was great. The staff was friendly, and the meals were good, too.

My first time at Goryu Mountain Lodge. It had just been rebuilt and was incredibly clean—it even had Washlet toilets, which is an amazing amenity you’d never expect to find in a mountain lodge. But the single-person mattress in my room was way too narrow 💦, and on top of that, there were no partitions and men and women were sharing the same room—it was brutal. Maybe they arranged it so that a woman would be in the next bed, but it was a pretty rough night...

The food was delicious both for breakfast and dinner, but I wish there had been a little more topping on the curry at dinner. As for the optional lunch box, I would have preferred it to have a bit more vinegar. The cleaning was thorough, and it was great that the restrooms were clean and had almost no odor.

The restrooms and drying room were very clean and comfortable. It would have been nice to have a few more mirrors in the washroom. The staff were polite and kind, which was great.

The distance to the neighbor was too close at bedtime. It was uncomfortable because they were using the other room as a spacious space and I felt like I was being treated carelessly.
