Maybe they were busy, but the service at the shop was sloppy (they took my money but didn’t give me my items and just walked off). They crammed 5 to 6 people into each guest room booth, and it seemed that some of them were mixed-gender groups.
From StaffThank you very much for staying at Hakuba Oike Mountain Hut. We sincerely apologize that your experience was affected by the service at our shop and by the room arrangements. We take your comments seriously. We will reinforce staff training to ensure attentive service and continue working to provide a comfortable and reassuring environment for all of our guests. Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback.

The restrooms were clean, which was great. I wish there had been twice as many Western-style toilets.
From StaffThank you very much for staying at Hakuba Oike Mountain Hut. We're delighted to hear that you found our restrooms clean. Thank you as well for your suggestion regarding additional Western-style toilets. Although there are limitations in a mountain hut environment, we truly appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration for future facility improvements. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. We look forward to seeing you again in the Japanese Alps.

Right in front of the mountain lodge is a vast field of flowers, and I’ve heard that some people even hike up here specifically to see them. The futons in the room were smaller than standard ones and packed tightly together, and since there were no partitions, I had a hard time falling asleep… Other than that, I had no complaints, and I’m truly grateful that they’re running this mountain lodge here. I hope they continue to do their best in running it in the future!
From StaffThank you very much for staying at Hakuba Oike Sanso. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful alpine flowers surrounding the lodge. Thank you also for sharing your honest feedback about your room. Although there are limitations in a mountain environment, we will continue striving to provide a comfortable stay for our guests. We truly appreciate your warm encouragement. We hope you will visit the Hakuba area in the Northern Alps again and enjoy another wonderful mountain adventure. We look forward to seeing you again.

As for the facilities, I suppose that’s to be expected at a mountain hut, but I did wonder why the staff were so arrogant. I’m not expecting the kind of service you’d get at a traditional inn, but couldn’t they at least say “Hello”? It felt a bit like being in prison.
From StaffThank you for staying at Hakuba Oike Mountain Lodge. We sincerely apologize that our staff's service left you with an unpleasant impression. We take your feedback seriously and will continue working to provide a welcoming and courteous experience for all our guests, regardless of the situation. Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback.

It’s located on the shore of Lake Oike, surrounded by flower fields—the location is simply wonderful. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and I really appreciated that the rice and soup were all-you-can-eat. It seems the menu changes for guests staying multiple nights, which is a nice touch. This time, breakfast was served starting at 5:00 a.m. and dinner at 5:00 p.m., which fit perfectly with our schedule. Guests are provided with water and hot water, so you can keep the amount of water you have to carry to a minimum.
Thank you very much for staying at Hakuba Oike Mountain Hut! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Hakuba Oike and the alpine flowers. It's also wonderful to know that you enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, as well as the free rice and soup refills. Thank you as well for your suggestion regarding the dinner schedule. We'll keep your feedback in mind as we continue improving our guest information. We're also glad that the complimentary hot water and drinking water for guests were useful. We look forward to welcoming you again in the Japanese Alps!
