A hidden hot spring in the sky, accessible only by hiking

Located in an avalanche-prone area, Hakuba Yari Onsen Hut is a rare wooden mountain hut that is rebuilt and dismantled every year.

At an elevation of approximately 2,100m, accessible only by hiking.
One of Japan’s highest hot springs, it boasts an abundant flow of approximately 600 liters per minute and features spacious open-air baths.

When weather permits, you can enjoy bathing while taking in views of the Shinetsu mountain range, as well as sunrise and a sky full of stars.
It is truly a “living hidden hot spring” that coexists with nature.
