The food was delicious, and the sleeping arrangements in the room were well thought out, taking into account how crowded it was. The view of Mt. Tsurugi at sunrise never fails to move me.

I finally made it to Mt. Hakuba, and my stay at Hakuba Sanso was incredibly comfortable. I was put at ease by the warm hospitality of the female staff member at the front desk. The compact private room in Building 1 allowed me to rest my tired body in peace. I’m so grateful for the private room. I was surprised by the washrooms and restrooms in Buildings 2 and 3. The reference room provided a great insight into the lodge’s history, and it made me realize once again that it’s only because I’m staying here that I can enjoy this view. The 120th-anniversary sticker is a treasure. The disappointments were: ① It said check-in started at 11:00 a.m., so I waited outside. However, they were already checking people in inside, and when I noticed, I went to the front desk at 10:30 a.m. I was really looking forward to the beef stew, but because there was a large group staying there, it had already sold out. It would be nice to know this in advance (like on which days they can’t serve it due to group bookings, or how many servings are available). Second, there was only one design for the T-shirt. It’s cute, but I don’t think I could wear it in my daily life. I was drawn to the mountain-design T-shirts hanging on the wall in the dining hall. Still, I bought a pin, a cow sticker, and an original tube as souvenirs. The tube is incredibly handy—I’m so glad I bought it❗️ It’ll come in handy on my future mountain hikes. I want to conquer the Hakuba Three Peaks! I’d love to stay here again when I do. Thank you very much. I’m filled with gratitude for the comfortable stay, which allowed me to hike safely.

Thank you for your hospitality. When checking in, I had to show the email sent at the time of booking, so it would have been helpful if that had been made clearer during the reservation process. The room wasn’t a large dormitory-style space; it was a room that probably sleeps about six people, though there were only three of us this time. It was very comfortable. The restroom seemed to have been recently renovated and was very clean, offering the same level of comfort as a typical ryokan. Although the toilet bowl was a bit small, it was equipped with a Washlet. The on-site restaurant also had a nice atmosphere. It was a bit smoky, but I think the view was fantastic. As for the food, the rice was average—though mountain hut meals have been delicious everywhere lately, so compared to those, it was just average. I wish the restaurant would put a little more effort into the food. Instead of breakfast at the restaurant, I opted for a bento box. I ate it on my way back near the snowfield, and it was the best mountain hut bento I’ve ever had. The large umeboshi was surprisingly welcome. The staff moved briskly and provided excellent service—it was really great. The person at the front desk was also very pleasant. Above all, the location is fantastic. It takes less than 15 minutes to reach the summit, so you can easily hike up to watch the sunset or sunrise. I climbed up four times this trip. I’d love to stay here again.

I stayed in a semi-private room. I thought it would be better if the side walls of the semi-private rooms were completely sealed off from the neighboring rooms. It was a beautiful mountain lodge in a wonderful location. The restrooms were clean, which was great. I’d love to stay there again.

Overall, it was a very nice mountain lodge. In particular, the beef stew I had for dinner at Sky Plaza will be a memory I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. However, regarding the portion size of the rice at breakfast, I was told, “You can have seconds,” so I asked for a small bowl. I didn’t realize that to get a second helping, I’d have to stand at the very front of a long line. I would appreciate it if you could consider measures such as providing a separate rice tub for seconds.

I stayed in a compact private room (2 tatami mats) during my climb of Mt. Hakuba. Since it was a private room, I could change clothes and pack my bags without worrying about disturbing others, and I was able to relax comfortably. The meal plan was designed with hikers’ nutritional needs in mind, and the portions were more than enough for me. I would definitely like to stay there again when I climb Mt. Hakuba.

We were a group of three visiting for the first time. Sky Plaza felt like a space you wouldn’t expect to find on top of a mountain, and we enjoyed a delicious cake set featuring a pear tart. The main course for dinner was Western-style chicken, which we ate with miso soup and rice. The shared Japanese-style room accommodated eight people, with each person having one tatami mat’s worth of space. It was conveniently located on the first floor of Building 2, close to the restrooms and the dining hall. The TV in the lounge was tuned to Toyama Broadcasting, and we watched a live sumo broadcast. The restrooms, equipped with Washlet bidets, were truly impressive.
