I stayed here the night before, and I really appreciated having a proper bath. The food was delicious, too.

Overall, it was a really great stay. The person at the front desk explained the flow of activities inside the lodge—especially regarding the bath, which can only accommodate five people at a time—and while they gently reminded us to “keep an eye on the situation,” they did so in a way that never made it seem like it would be difficult to use the bath. I thought they were really good at communicating that. That person was also very knowledgeable about the mountains and shared some helpful tips for our hikes the following days. The meals were delicious and hearty, and I was happy to see they were packed with protein. Plus, the plain white rice was delicious.

For the most part, the staff were friendly, but I felt they chatted among themselves a lot.

My main goal was to take a stroll through the nature park while the flowers were in full bloom, but since there are few days with clear skies all day long from June through July—and I figured the only times to see the mountains clearly would be in the evening or early morning—I decided to stay at the Tsugaike Hut. It’s a mountain hut in the sense that it doesn’t provide amenities like towels, but the rooms were clean, there was a bath, and the meals were delicious. In addition, the staff were truly kind; they gave me all sorts of advice. I woke up in the middle of the night, looked out the window, and saw a shooting star, and when I woke up early in the morning, I could see the Hakuba Three Peaks bathed in the morning sun from my room’s window. I had a very pleasant stay. Thank you very much.

The staff at the front desk and the servers were so kind—they checked in on us several times, which was a big help and really made us happy. On the way back, we chatted about how we should stop by Hütte again for lunch or a break♪ We two old folks managed just fine. Thank you so much🤗

I stayed here the night before my one-night climb of Mt. Hakuba. The staff were all very kind and attentive. They kept me informed about the conditions on the hiking trails, checked in on me, and I felt a real warmth in these small interactions. While they probably don’t have to worry about transporting supplies up from the summit, the meals were also very delicious. Additionally, the place was spotlessly clean, and I got the impression that even guests who weren’t hikers would feel comfortable staying there.

I stayed in a shared room with bunk beds. I had the top bunk. It was narrower than I expected. I wish there had been a shelf or something. Plus, there was a gap between the bed and the wall, so there was a chance things might fall through to the floor. And above all, the room was hot and smelled of sweat. The futon felt sticky, too. So, it’s a good idea to bring a mask and a fitted sheet. I took a bath after dinner and had the place all to myself. That was nice, but since I’d been sweating so much while sleeping, it was a wash…
