・The Sky Lounge was great. It was a shame that it got hazy in the evening, but if it had been clear, the view from the lounge would have been wonderful. ・The iced coffee was exceptionally delicious. ・Since there were vacant rooms available, it would have been even better if they could have given us a room just for the seven of us.

    From Staff

Thank you very much for staying at Hakuba Sanso. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed Sky Plaza and our iced coffee. Although the view was hidden by clouds this time, on a clear day the lounge offers spectacular panoramic views of the Japanese Alps. We hope you'll have the chance to experience them on your next visit. Thank you as well for your feedback regarding the room. We will continue doing our best to make our room assignments as comfortable as possible, depending on availability each day. We look forward to seeing you again in the Japanese Alps!

The first time I used the restroom, the staff member who showed me where it was was very polite. The room was old but clean, and the food was pretty tasty. It was the kind of Japanese side dishes that appeal to connoisseurs, and while I enjoyed it, the foreign guests at my table didn’t seem to like it very much.

The staff were wonderful, and it was a fantastic mountain lodge overall. Although this isn’t really the lodge’s fault, if I had to point out one area for improvement, it would be that the cell phone reception was so poor that I couldn’t use my phone at all. I had both a Docomo and a Rakuten phone, but I couldn’t use either of them inside or outside the lodge.

Thank you very much for staying at Hakuba Sanso! We're delighted to hear your kind words about our staff. Your feedback is a great encouragement to all of us. Thank you as well for sharing your comments about the mobile phone signal. Due to the location in the mountains, reception can be limited depending on the carrier and weather conditions. We will continue working to provide clearer information in advance so guests know what to expect. We look forward to seeing you again in the Japanese Alps. Thank you again for your review!

It was so clean and comfortable, you’d never guess it was the oldest mountain lodge! The only meal that was self-serve was dinner—just rice and miso soup—and if you ended up sharing a table with inconsiderate people, the miso soup would be practically devoid of any ingredients. It’s reassuring that they serve you breakfast, but dinner is a bit of a hit-or-miss, which I found disappointing. Other than that, everything was great!

    From Staff

Thank you very much for staying at Hakuba Sanso! We were delighted to read that you found our mountain hut much cleaner and more comfortable than you had expected. Your kind words mean a lot to us. We also appreciate your honest feedback about dinner. Because the meal is served buffet-style, the ingredients in the miso soup may become uneven depending on when guests come for refills. We apologize that this affected your experience and will continue working to improve the way we serve our meals so that everyone can enjoy them until the very end. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the rest of your stay, and we look forward to seeing you again in the Japanese Alps.
