The weather wasn’t great on July 18 and 19, and the humidity was intense, so it was a tough hike. But when I arrived at the mountain hut, everyone’s smiles and warm words really lifted my spirits—I felt so happy and thought, “I’m so glad I pushed through!” 😭 The curry for dinner was absolutely delicious~ 😆 I was also able to buy the T-shirt I’d been wanting for so long, and I just can’t stop grinning 🤭 Thank you so much for this two-day, one-night trip!

Not only is the location right at the foot of Mt. Goryu wonderful, but the famous curry rice—with free refills—is delicious, and the restrooms are very clean, making for a comfortable stay. The only downside was that they didn’t sell bottled tea…

Check-in was a breeze on the tablet! The dinner plating was beautiful and the food was delicious! Plus, I was happy to be able to enjoy a draft beer! The staff, wearing funny T-shirts, were down-to-earth and friendly—great!

It’s really convenient that it’s close to the campground and the mountain lodge. Since the campground operates on a reservation system, I was able to enjoy my hike with peace of mind. I spent some luxurious, relaxing time gazing out at the sea of clouds from my tent. I also bought a T-shirt that says “I love mountains, I love sake,” and even after coming down the mountain, my thoughts still linger on Mount Goryu.

I was grateful that the campground was well-maintained. The restrooms weren’t too far away either. The view was great. There was a whole row of electrical outlets, as if to say, “Feel free to charge your power bank here,” which made me feel very at ease.

Goryu from the lodge is truly spectacular. ・The guest rooms are small, but the facilities—including the sink and toilet—are comfortable. ・The curry for dinner was delicious, and they serve draft beer. ・The staff provided attentive and friendly service. Thank you for your hospitality on July 11 and 12. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. There were plenty of staff members, and they brought me seconds right away. The room, bathroom, and washroom were all very clean, so I was able to relax and enjoy my stay. It was also great that I could use PayPay at the vending machines and the gift shop.

This is a popular mountain hut. I made my reservation quite a while ago for this trip. Given the hut’s location, rather than the scorching Tōmi Ridge, I’ll be approaching from the Karamatsu area—which is a good starting point for rock climbing—and heading toward Mount Kashima-Yarigatake (Kireto Hut), where I can bag two of Japan’s “100 Famous Mountains.” Since both Mt. Goryu and Mt. Karamatsu offer views of Mt. Tsurugi, it’s easy to push through the early-morning rock climbing. This was my first time staying here, and I was first surprised by the clean, renovated restrooms—they might even be better than those at a ryokan down in the city. As for the meals on this trip, dinner was curry. Both the rice and the curry sauce were available for seconds. Breakfast was on par with a dinner at other places. What really stood out was the miso soup served at both breakfast and dinner! The ingredients—local mushrooms and bamboo shoots—were so special that they’d easily be listed as a separate dish on the menu at a restaurant in town. The cheerful staff also really lifted my spirits. I look forward to staying with you again in the future.
