I stayed for two nights, and on the second day, they kindly prepared a different meal just for me. The bathroom was clean and comfortable, and the shower temperature was easy to adjust. They were happy to offer advice when I asked about my mountain hike. They were very considerate, even arranging for me to share a room with someone I happened to meet.

I’m truly grateful that you accommodated my last-minute stay, and when I lost my fanny pack (containing my car keys, iPhone, and a piece of yokan), you went out of your way to help—offering advice and checking with other mountain huts. After descending the mountain, I had JAF unlock my car. When I searched for my iPhone using my iPad, I found that even though it was in Airplane Mode, it responded to my iPad and had been turned in to the police station. Apparently, only my iPhone and car keys were found on the trail; the waist pouch was missing. I was just about to head to Chiba Prefecture to retrieve my spare car key. Thank you so much for your help. With such delicious meals and comfortable rooms, I’d love to come back again. Thank you very much.

I stayed here the night before my trek through Tsugaike Nature Park and my visit to Hakuba Oike. It’s a pleasant mountain lodge where everything—from the rooms and restrooms to the entire building—is clean. The meals are delicious, too. I was also happy to have a bath available. In the private rooms with bunk beds, you can change clothes if you close the curtain. However, the lower bunk was too low, which was uncomfortable. If the beds were just a little higher (about the same height as those at Yokoo Sanso), it would be easier to sit down and stand up. The mattress was thin, and my body ached. The pillows were too high for me, so as usual, I used my insulation jacket as a pillow, but overall, I had a pretty comfortable stay. The “Hütte Anmitsu” I had on my way down two days later was delicious!

I was able to hike the route from Sarukura-so via the snowfield to Mt. Hakuba and then on to Tsugaike Hut. I took a break at Hakuba Sanso before heading for the summit, but then thunder began to roll, and I felt uneasy about walking along the ridgeline. However, since other hikers were continuing to climb without any issues, I was able to pick up the pace toward Tsugaike Hut. It took 11 hours, but the well-maintained facilities at Tsugaike Hut instantly relieved my fatigue, and I was able to descend the next day feeling in good health. Thank you very much. Sarukura-so, with its old-fashioned atmosphere, was also wonderful.

It was a shared room with bunk beds, but I wish they could have switched me from the top bunk to the bottom one.

I was able to spend a relaxing and leisurely time there. It felt great to just take a regular bath. I was happy to see the Hakuba mountains from the dining hall.

Thank you very much for accommodating my last-minute cancellation and for your kind assistance. It was a day trip round-trip hike up Mt. Hakuba that I’d spent three years preparing for, and I was able to enjoy it in perfect conditions.

Although I'm staying in a shared room, it's inconvenient that there isn't a power outlet next to my bed to charge my smartphone. There aren't any shared outlets in the room either, so my only option is to use the outlets in the lounge.

I used public transportation to get there. I was able to take a leisurely stroll through the nature park while acclimating to the altitude, and I even made it to Mt. Hakuba the next day—I was completely satisfied. The baths were wonderful. I have hearing loss, and I appreciated that the staff at the front desk handled our communication via writing very professionally.

Even though it was a mountain lodge, it had a bath, was well-equipped, and was very clean. Overall, I was satisfied, but if I had to point out one thing that bothered me, it was that—perhaps because the building was so well-insulated—the room didn’t seem to ventilate very well, and I felt a little stuffy while sleeping at night.
