The water in the tub was too cold, so I couldn't soak in it. It might be fine during the height of summer when you're sweating, but in mid-October, it was too cold. Otherwise, I was satisfied.

This is my second stay at Tsugaike Hutte. As always, the staff were polite and kind. The only difference from my last visit—and my only complaint—is the bath. When I stayed here last time during the late-spring snow season, the bath water was warm and very pleasant, but this time it was lukewarm, and I got cold, so I had to get out and warm myself up under the shower at the sink. I wanted to add more hot water, but there was no faucet near the tub. I thought about it for a moment, but eventually gave up and decided to get out as is. After that, many other guests came to take a bath, so I returned to my room, but I heard people complaining that the water was cold, so I think everyone else was in the same situation.

Since I couldn’t find a shared-room plan with one night’s stay and two meals included when booking online, I requested a boxed lunch. Since breakfast started at 6:00 a.m., I think it would have been nice to have the one-night, two-meals option. By the way, I ate the boxed lunch in the dining hall. Otherwise, I’m satisfied. Thank you very much.

When I was younger, I couldn’t see the value in anything other than mountain huts along the ridgeline, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to truly appreciate facilities like the Tsugaike Hut. It’s very clean and in a great location, and I’d love to stay there again.

It has a sense of cleanliness and openness that you wouldn’t expect from a mountain lodge. From the dining room and terrace, you can enjoy views of the mountains and trees, and it’s easy to watch the sunrise or gaze at the stars in the night sky. Both dinner and breakfast are delicious and nutritionally balanced. The hot tub soothes your fatigue, and the mineral-rich spring water—which contains sodium and other minerals—seems to have therapeutic benefits. Wi-Fi is also available.

Breakfast is served a little later here than at other mountain huts, so it would be helpful if it could be served about 30 minutes to an hour earlier, if possible.

I stayed in a private room. The room and bedding were very clean, and I had a very pleasant stay. The bathroom was clean and featured a whirlpool tub, which was perfect for soothing the fatigue from hiking in the mountains. The meals were delicious and hearty. The inn itself was clean and comfortable. There was a heater near the TV area on the first floor, so after dinner, I spent some time there watching TV while warming up. I’d definitely like to stay here again.
