The lodging was clean. My room was in Building 1. The heating wasn’t on, so it was cold. Yet the building with the dining hall was warm because the heating was on there. The individual restrooms in Building 1 are dark inside, so I’d like them to add more lighting. The pork miso soup for dinner was delicious.

I stayed at Hakuba Sanso. Both the room and the restroom were clean, and I had a very comfortable stay. My only slight disappointment was that the pillow was too small and too soft to be of any use at all. I received a 120th-anniversary sticker. I was really touched.

I entered from Tsugaike. Given the less-than-ideal weather, I’m truly grateful to be able to stay at such a comfortable mountain hut after a long traverse. It’s hard to believe that Sky Plaza is located at this elevation and in this setting, and relaxing here has become one of the highlights of my mountain trips every time. The compact private room was just the right size, and I had a very comfortable stay. One thing—I stay here every year around this time, and it seems like chicken has been on the dinner menu for several nights in a row. While I understand the challenges of serving meals to large groups at the right time in a place like this, I would appreciate it if you could review the menu and check the doneness of the rice. If I may be so bold, I’d be happy if there were a way to serve beef stew that also accommodates hikers coming from the Tsugaike Route. Overall, I’m satisfied with my stay this time as well.

As for the dinner menu, serving a large number of guests at the same time inevitably leads to some repetition, and we take your point seriously. We'll look into the menu rotation as well as how the rice is being cooked. Your specific suggestion about offering the beef stew to guests arriving via the Tsugaike route is a helpful one, and we'll keep it in mind. It was a very large mountain lodge. The room I stayed in was a shared room near the front desk, but it was very clean. Since it was close to the entrance, it was convenient for going outside or to the dining hall. Also, the drying room was right next door, which was very convenient. However, the restrooms were on the opposite side, so they were a bit far away, and there were lines forming, probably because there weren’t enough changing rooms. Overall, it was a very comfortable mountain lodge to stay in.

Easy access to the outdoors and the dining hall is one of the nice things about that room, and it sounds like the drying room right next to it was handy too. Sorry for the inconvenience with the distance to the toilets and the crowding at the changing room. We'll think about whether there's room to improve the flow there. The semi-private room offered plenty of privacy, which was great. It felt more spacious than it did in the photos.

Lunch box. The soup spilled and soaked into my backpack. It’s sometimes difficult to keep things level inside a backpack—especially when it’s not intentional. I’d really appreciate it if the soup and sauce wouldn’t spill like that. I want to avoid that next time. What a bummer.

The white rice for dinner was mushy. I prefer capsule-style rooms to small private rooms.

This was my second stay here. As expected of Mammoth Mountain Lodge, the consideration shown in arranging the rooms so they weren’t too close to the neighbors was excellent. I was able to recover from the day’s fatigue and set out on the next day’s traverse. I was very satisfied with the meals, which were designed to help restore my energy. I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the staff for their thoughtfulness. Thank you very much.
