I really wish they would install shelves or something where we can put our bags, like backpacks. Even just putting hooks on the wall would be a big help. Also, the disparity between the old and new wings was too great.

After making a reservation, we’re required to enter everyone’s phone numbers and addresses before checking in on the day of the appointment, but this is a hassle, so I’d like them to stop requiring it. I understand they need names and genders, but I don’t think they need everyone’s addresses.

To be honest, dinner was delicious. It was a shame, though, because I had high expectations after enjoying the buffet for lunch. The seasoning on the chicken and the minced meat dish were also disappointing.

Since it’s a mountain lodge, shared rooms are to be expected, but there are people who walk around making loud noises while others are sleeping, and others who start organizing their gear and preparing to leave, creating a lot of rustling noise. While this isn’t the lodge’s fault—it’s a matter of individual manners—I would appreciate it if they could issue a reminder to guests. I realize this might be difficult for a mountain lodge, but it would be great if they could assign rooms based on departure times to some extent. Hakuba Sanso itself was a very nice mountain lodge—the rooms and restrooms were clean, and the service was pleasant. It was nice that they greeted us warmly both when we arrived and when we departed.

I stayed there on the 28th. It was pouring rain, so I really appreciated the warm welcome. It felt a little cramped during mealtimes because it was so crowded, but other than that, the room was comfortable and I was able to relax. I’d like to stay there again.
