The space between the tables in the cafeteria is too narrow, making it difficult to get tea or refills. I appreciate that they offer small, medium, and large portions of rice, but it’s a shame there’s no soy sauce or other condiments on the tables.

It was nice that there was a spacious drying room. The flush toilet was nice. It was cold inside the building.

My stay was more comfortable than I had imagined, and I’m very satisfied. I thought the private room might be a bit small, but since I was staying alone and there was a luggage rack under the window, it didn’t feel that cramped. I did get the sense that it would be a tight fit for two people, though. Unfortunately, the view was completely white during my stay, but given the wonderful location right near the summit, I hope to see the clear views someday. Breakfast and dinner were served one after another, almost like an assembly line, which was kind of amusing. It’s astonishing to think that they manage and run such a large mountain lodge on-site. Despite that, the cleaning and maintenance were meticulous, and I could really feel the effort and thoughtfulness of the staff. I definitely want to stay here again next time to enjoy the beautiful views.

Since it was my first time staying at a mountain hut and I was hiking alone, I was a bit nervous about a few things, but the staff were so welcoming that I had a very pleasant stay. I’d love to come back again.

I was really impressed by the toilet with a Washlet. There was no unpleasant odor, and it was very comfortable. It was hard to believe we were up on a mountain. However, it was a shame that the floor of the washroom in front of the restroom was wet. Especially after meals or brushing my teeth, my socks would get wet no matter where I stepped. If there were something like a mop nearby, anyone who noticed it could wipe it up, and I think people watching that would be more careful when using the restroom.

Since the rainy season ended late this year, it was a huge help that I could make up to 10 changes. It coincided perfectly with the end of the rainy season, allowing me to fully enjoy a wonderful traverse of the Hakuba Three Peaks. In terms of facilities, I was impressed by the clean restrooms equipped with Washlet bidets. The pillows in the room were small, and my head kept falling off the pillow every time I rolled over. Also, the mattress was thin, so it wasn’t very comfortable to sleep on.

The compact private room was very relaxing. Also, the tonteki I had for dinner was delicious. Regarding the restroom and washroom: guests are supposed to keep their socks on in the washroom and wear slippers in the restroom. However, I noticed some international guests were using the washroom while still wearing their restroom slippers, and I found it a bit unpleasant to walk through that area in my own socks. I think it would be better if you provided indoor slippers or clearly posted signs indicating which areas require the use of restroom slippers.

I thought the food and the staff’s service were excellent. However, the room I stayed in wasn’t very clean—there was a lot of what looked like mold on the walls, and a small centipede-like insect appeared, so I ended up squashing it. I just couldn’t bring myself to take that piece of trash home with me, so I’m sorry I left it there and went home.
