It's a comfortable cabin, and the restroom is very clean.

The staff was generally very helpful. I really enjoyed dinner. For me, the portion size right after the “regular” serving was a huge helping. I would have preferred a slightly smaller portion, but it seems they don’t accommodate such specific requests.

Since it’s essentially a mountain lodge, I’m very satisfied with Hakuba Sanso. Although I requested a dormitory room, if I had one minor complaint, it’s this: since the COVID-19 pandemic, personal space in dormitory rooms has generally been expanded, and even in slightly cramped rooms, partitions near the face are now the norm. However, here there were only futons about shoulder-width wide—similar to the space in old Mount Fuji mountain huts—and I was a bit surprised to find myself coming into contact with my neighbor multiple times while sleeping. Staying in a dormitory room is one of the joys of a mountain lodge, so I’d appreciate it if they could reconsider this a bit.

A relative of the founder explained the history of the mountain lodge to us, and we had a truly enriching experience. I was having trouble putting on my crampons for the first time, but that person patiently and thoroughly showed me how, which really touched me. Thanks to the patrol members keeping an eye on us, we were able to make it down the mountain safely. Thank you very much.

Since we arrived late, we asked to switch from the regular dinner to beef stew. Even though the deadline for changes was 4:00 p.m. and we were 15 minutes past that, the staff still asked the kitchen to accommodate us, and I was really happy they were able to make the change. And just as everyone says, it was absolutely delicious. The mountain lodge itself was very clean, and the view of the mountains from the Sky Plaza was truly magnificent.

I think it’s normal not to have a bath. I had ordered a boxed lunch for the morning, but when the weather changed and it became unclear whether I’d be able to eat it along the way, they not only kindly allowed me to eat it in the reception area or the kitchen, but also collected the containers for me—I was so grateful!! I thought that was wonderful service.

Thank you very much for everything. I stayed with you on September 11. The front desk staff were very helpful, and the food was delicious! I know it must be a lot of work, but I look forward to staying with you again in the future!!

Thank you for everything. I imagine running a mountain hut is a lot of work, but thanks to the hut, I’m able to go hiking. I can’t thank you enough. Since there were shelves on only one side of the shared Japanese-style room, I was glad to see there were shelves on both sides. I look forward to your continued support.

I stayed overnight at the Mt. Hakuba Mountain Lodge. Both the breakfast and dinner were delicious. Even though I arrived at the lodge as late as 5:30 p.m., the female staff were quick and responsive. I really appreciated being able to drop off my luggage and have dinner right away. However, I was surprised by how narrow the futon was. I’ve stayed at several mountain huts since the pandemic, but this was the first time I’d encountered such a narrow sleeping space—it was a bit cramped. I could clearly hear the person next to me breathing. Other than that, the restroom was clean and pleasant.
