The building was new, and both the rooms and the dining hall were clean. In the rooms with bunk beds, they had kindly assigned us seniors the bottom bunks. Dinner was also excellent. There was also a bath, which was great. There were two drawbacks: the entranceway where we took off our hiking boots was a bit cramped. Also, out of the three men’s restrooms, one was broken and unusable. Another was a squat toilet, which was difficult for us seniors to use. Overall, it was a good experience.

The facility was kept very clean, and I had a pleasant stay. The staff at check-in were also very kind and accommodating, responding to my last-minute requests. As for the meals, I’d say they were just okay.

There were just two of us in a traditional Japanese-style room designed for four people, but it was spacious enough for four to stay comfortably. The bath was also spacious, and I felt refreshed afterward. The staff were courteous, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The view from the second-floor terrace was lovely, and since we could come and go as we pleased in the nature park at any time, we were able to enjoy the scenery from early in the morning.

I stayed here while hiking Mount Norikura in Hakuba. The advice I received from the front desk staff about the hike was extremely helpful. Thanks to them, it was a very enjoyable and memorable hiking trip. Next time, I hope to stay here again when I climb Mount Hakuba, which I’ve always dreamed of climbing.

I ordered a breakfast bento, but it was just rice balls with almost no side dishes, and the rice tasted bad. 1,500 yen is a rip-off.

I stayed here the night before climbing Mt. Hakuba. The hot springs and delicious dinner left me feeling refreshed, both physically and mentally, so I was ready to tackle the climb. The saltiness of the rice balls in my morning bento was just perfect.

I was a bit anxious about traveling with my mother, who has limited mobility, but the owner was so kind. Even though it was a busy day with many guests, he went out of his way to help us. Thanks to him, we had a truly wonderful stay. The sight of the mountains bathed in the morning glow is still etched in my memory. The water in the bathtub felt like a cold bath. A shower was enough, though. The food was delicious, and they were able to refill the tub with hot water early in the morning, so we set off on a fun hike. Thank you for your hospitality.

The food was delicious, and my stay was very comfortable. Also, since the forecast called for stormy weather the next day, I really appreciated all the helpful tips you gave me. I’d love to come back during a season I haven’t visited yet.

I stayed here before climbing Mt. Hakuba. Three of us shared a traditional Japanese-style dormitory room; with one other guest, there were four of us in total. There was a wooden platform in the corner where we could store our backpacks, so there was plenty of space. For dinner, as is typical at a mountain lodge, the main course was whitefish, along with pork sukiyaki served in small pots—it was a luxurious meal and very delicious. Both the restrooms and the bath were clean and comfortable. I feel that prices at hotels and other accommodations have gone up recently due to the influx of international tourists, but considering the facilities and meals, I think this is a great value. The gift shop had a wider selection of postcards than Hakuba Sanso. I bought a few and mailed them from the post office at the summit.
