This was my first time staying at a mountain lodge in the Hakuba-kan chain. The online reservation process was very easy to follow, and check-in at the front desk on the day of my stay went smoothly. I felt that having such well-developed information infrastructure is crucial for future stays at mountain lodges. The only staff member I spoke with was the woman at the front desk, but she was very warm and kind, which left a very positive impression on me.

As Japan’s largest mountain lodge, I’d been wanting to stay here for a long time. The staff were very courteous, and the check-in process was simple and easy to follow thanks to the QR code. The meals were more than sufficient for a mountain lodge, but I think it would have been even better if the private rooms had interior locks (for security).

I’ve been staying here every year, but this was my first time staying in a special bedroom suite in 15 years. With clean sheets and a café table, I had a very comfortable stay. Also, the restrooms have been renovated and are now very comfortable. I’ve also come to love the French fries, which are a new addition to the Sky Plaza menu. As for the reservation system, until last year it was very difficult to book because the hotel was fully booked day after day with what appeared to be provisional reservations. However, a deposit system was introduced this year, making it much easier to make reservations. That said, while we used to be able to book a private Japanese-style room even for just two people, the current system seems to limit this to groups of three or more. I would appreciate it if you could improve this aspect. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Thank you very much.

I stayed there on July 4. I got the impression that group guests were given priority, so we were the last to be served at meals. The room had only one thin futon, so it was very cold.

We were blessed with good weather and had a generally comfortable stay—thank you very much. However, the room felt a bit cold. I was also surprised by the new bidet toilet.

I arrived at Hakuba Sanso shortly after noon. Since the cell phone charging stations weren’t busy early in the day, I was able to charge my phone without any trouble (by dinnertime, my battery was fully charged). For dinner, I was able to get seconds of rice and pork miso soup—I was very satisfied! The staff were kind enough to give me a large serving of rice.

I stayed in a double room by myself. The food was delicious, and I appreciated having my privacy. The restroom was clean, too. It seemed like there was Wi-Fi in the main building, but the signal was weak in the annex. Also, the rice at dinner was too soft. Overall, I was satisfied.

This was my first time staying at Hakuba Sanso, and I was impressed by how quick and efficient the check-in process was. I was truly moved by how clean the restrooms were and by the beautiful views. It was just a shame that the bedding wasn’t quite up to par. The staff were very helpful, and overall, I was extremely satisfied. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

The restrooms were so clean! I was thrilled to find they even had a Washlet! Since there weren’t many guests that day, we were able to enjoy our room at our own pace, which really warmed our hearts—especially since we’d arrived with our bodies frozen from the cold. The staff at the front desk and in the dining room were all so polite and kind—it really made me want to come back!
