I really liked how clean the facilities were. The view from the window was also great. The staff were cheerful and friendly, which was great. We stayed in a shared Japanese-style room. There were futons for seven people—it was just my husband and me, plus a family of three. Since the two people in the middle weren’t there, we shifted our futons slightly so everyone could rest comfortably. If all seven of us had been there, the futons would have been packed so tightly that our shoulders would have been touching. I thought that would have made it a bit uncomfortable to sleep.

I was glad to see that the restrooms, washrooms, and changing rooms were clean. I was a little nervous about booking a room by myself at the Kai-ko Shelf, but I ended up having a great time chatting about hiking with another woman who was also hiking solo.

It was very convenient to have check-in counters and vending machines where you just had to show your QR code, as well as the barcode payment system. I especially appreciated the clean restrooms and washrooms, which lived up to their reputation. I thought it was a mountain lodge that was simple in many ways and, in a good way, businesslike. I’d love to visit again.

Maybe because the deposit system started this year, it was great that it was easier to make a reservation. The location was the best campsite ever. It was also a nice touch that they served Sapporo beer!

The Washlet is amazing. The staff are friendly, kind, and wonderful. I really appreciate that they accept PayPay and credit cards. It’s a shame that the only non-alcoholic option is Coke. It would be nice if they had something like Pocari Sweat, Aquarius, or Calpis—that would really be a treat. The breakfast bento was absolutely delicious!!

I was really impressed by the Washlet in the bathroom! It was clean and made for a pleasant stay. If I had to nitpick, my room was on the lower level of the “Silkworm Room,” and the footsteps of people walking down the hallway were very loud—it would have been nice if there had been a mat or something. Also, I wish there had been at least one clothes hanger.

Since I was camping in a tent, there are some aspects I can’t evaluate, but the staff at the front desk were very friendly. Thank you for your hospitality. I think this is a great mountain lodge.

The rooms and restrooms were clean, and it was a very comfortable stay. I was worried because the weather was getting rough, but the advice on what to wear and other matters was very reassuring. Perhaps because there weren’t many guests, we were able to have the room all to ourselves, which we really appreciated.
