Check-in at the front desk went smoothly. There was no space in the room to put my backpack. I couldn't use the ticket machines at Sky Plaza.

It’s a large mountain lodge, but it’s a very comfortable place to stay. The staff were very helpful, and both the meals and the boxed lunches were delicious. I was thrilled to find that the restrooms in the dining hall were equipped with Washlet bidets. The gift shop had a great atmosphere—it didn’t even feel like we were up in the mountains. Next time I go, I’d like to try the cake and beef stew.

I was surprised to see such a large mountain lodge near the summit. It was great that there was plenty of space at my feet to set down my backpack. Arriving at 4:00 p.m.—depending on the gondola’s operating hours from Tsugaike—was quite a challenge for people who aren’t strong hikers, as even a minor mishap could prevent them from making it. Since cell phone reception is often unreliable, it would be helpful if text messaging via satellite communication were made available.

Check-in went smoothly, and the semi-private room was very comfortable. I really appreciated being able to charge my smartphone. I was surprised at how clean the restroom and sink area were. I was able to relax at the restaurant, and both the tart and the beer were delicious. The breakfast and lunch bento boxes were perfect. Above all, it was amazing how thoroughly clean the entire lodge was! I’m truly impressed by the daily efforts of all the staff. I was completely satisfied. Thank you very much!

Since I’m allergic to the mackerel served for breakfast, I asked them to take it away before it was served—since leaving it would just result in food waste—but they waved me off, saying, “It’s okay to leave it.” I was very disappointed, since I’d made the request precisely because I didn’t want to waste food by leaving it behind. Also, after arriving, I tried using the Sky Plaza, but it was practically a sauna—not at all a relaxing environment—so I left pretty quickly. I don’t expect air conditioning, but surely there’s some way to improve the situation, like by ventilating the space?
