It was great to hear about Hakuba Sanso’s 120th anniversary and see the slideshow. My friend was really impressed when he used the flush toilet. I wish I’d gone! My son was thrilled that we could have unlimited refills of rice and miso soup. Even though we had to wait in line in the morning, I decided it was better to have breakfast there than to bring a packed lunch. The trail from Tsugaike offered great weather and scenery, and I took some amazing photos! I was worried about the typhoon, but I’m so glad everything turned out this way‼️ Thank you very much!

I wish they had explained in advance that the lights and AC outlets in the special private room would stop working as soon as the lights were turned off. It was disappointing to find that my cell phone hadn't charged at all by early morning, even though I thought I had plugged it in before going to bed.

I usually camp in a tent, but this time I stayed at Hakuba Sanso (semi-private room). Thanks to being able to travel light, I was able to fully enjoy hiking along the ridgeline and taking photos, and I slept soundly in the quiet private room—choosing to stay at the lodge was definitely the right decision! Not only was the delicious dinner a highlight, but I was also very satisfied with the morning bento box. The lodge was clean, and I’m grateful to the staff for welcoming me with warm smiles. I also felt reassured by their thorough attention to safety—for example, they prohibited charging mobile power banks via wall outlets. The breathtaking views and starry skies from in front of the lodge will be memories I’ll cherish for a lifetime. Thank you so much to everyone who works to maintain such a comfortable environment on this rugged ridge.

A staff member told me not to enter that area, but I didn't realize it was off-limits because there were no signs indicating it. I hope they'll take steps to make it clearer, such as putting up signs.
Thank you for staying with us, and we’re sorry the restricted area wasn’t clear to you. Our lodge sits within a national park, where signs and markers cannot be freely installed in order to protect the landscape and natural environment. For this reason, our staff let guests know directly when an area is off-limits. We appreciate your understanding, and we hope to welcome you back to the mountains of Hakuba, in the Japanese Alps.
