It’s a shame that the futons are very narrow, the kitchen area is small, and there’s no lounge. The restrooms were the cleanest I’ve ever seen.

It was a wonderful mountain lodge! The staff were kind and greeted us with big, cheerful smiles. Their smiles are what left the strongest impression on me! It really lifts your spirits. The place had been renovated; the second floor had a cottage-style feel, with stylish indirect lighting, and the restrooms were very comfortable, equipped with Washlet toilets. The reservation system was convenient, too. Since I had some points, I booked a shared room. It was a big help that I could use my card at the gift shop. I bought a cute tenugui as a souvenir! Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious! Although there isn’t a lounge, you can relax in the dining hall until meal prep begins. If I may be a bit indulgent, I’d be over the moon if they offered a café menu here, like a cake set. I’ve found yet another mountain lodge that I absolutely love. I’d love to stay here again!

I really appreciated that there was a free charging station at the entrance to the cabin for people camping in tents or just passing through. It was interesting that the restrooms for visitors were positioned so you could see right through the windows. It made it a little awkward to go in, though 💦 The campground was flat and well-leveled, so it was easy to set up my tent. This has become a mountain cabin I’d love to visit again.

I was very satisfied with the mountain lodge’s facilities. In particular, the Washlet toilets were clean and comfortable. As for the meals, the curry for dinner was great, of course, but the mushroom miso soup for breakfast was absolutely exquisite. The cleaning was thorough, and I was impressed by how carefully the staff maintained the tent site. If I had to nitpick, the sleeping area was a bit cramped—I wish there had been at least a partition. Thank you for your hospitality.

My arrival was delayed due to unexpected rain. I appreciated the follow-up phone call. The futons in the room were damp, which was a bit of a downer—though I suppose it can’t be helped. Also, it would have been nice if we could have turned off the lights in our rooms ourselves; it was too bright for a long time before lights-out, and I couldn’t sleep. The curry was delicious and nicely spiced. The boxed lunch was also delicious. It was a shame that, because we arrived late, we couldn’t use the drying room in time, so our clothes didn’t dry (the heater had been turned off). Many of the staff members were young, cheerful, and energetic, which left a good impression on me.

The rooms and restrooms were clean, and there were plenty of charging stations (I was really impressed that they even had charging stations for people staying overnight or just passing through—and they were free, too). Whether opening or closing doors—in the room or outside the restroom—as long as you did it gently, it didn’t make a sound, so it was great to be able to go in and out of the room quietly in the middle of the night to use the restroom. Dinner was already plated when I arrived, so I was worried I wouldn’t be able to finish it all (though I managed to eat it all…). I felt bad about leaving any leftovers, so I thought it would be nice if I could return a little bit right at the start. The staff told me, “Don’t worry about it—just leave whatever you can’t finish,” but I still felt bad about leaving any food behind. It might be a good idea to have an announcement before we start eating, something like, “If you’re not confident you can finish your meal, please give your portion to someone nearby who looks like they can eat it.” Check-out was at 7:30 a.m., so I went to the summit of Mount Goryu and returned before then, ate my morning bento, and packed up my luggage. However, cleaning started before 7:30, which made me feel a little rushed. I felt bad, thinking that if I’d known when the cleaning would start, I would have packed up before then. But overall, I had a very comfortable stay; the staff were all very pleasant, and I thought it was a great inn. If I have the chance to go again, I’d definitely like to stay there.
