Since it's a large building, the tape markings in the hallways made it easy to find my way. I really appreciated that they provided special plastic bags so I could bring my hiking boots into my room.

I’ve resumed hiking after more than two decades and returned to this place with fond memories of the past in my heart. Usually, it’s rare for reality to surpass memories that have been romanticized over time, but Hakuba Sanso truly lived up to expectations—from its location to the desserts at the Sky Restaurant and the staff’s hospitality. I definitely plan to bring my wife along for my third visit. It is only because of mountain huts that so many hikers can enjoy safe and comfortable mountain trips. It’s no exaggeration to say that they enrich our lives, and I cannot thank enough all those who have been involved in running these huts since their inception. I’ll continue to stay at mountain huts and buy souvenirs to help ensure they remain profitable, so I look forward to the continued provision of comfortable facilities and services, as well as the development of new merchandise.

It was a private room in Building 1, but the vibrations from people walking down the hallway could be heard quite clearly, so I thought it might be a good idea to post a sign asking people to walk quietly.

Last time (two years ago), we stayed in a private room for two, but this time we stayed in a large shared room. It was so comfortable that I even snored in my sleep! I do feel bad for disturbing the other guests, though… I was happy that breakfast was high in protein and had a mild, gentle flavor. I’ll definitely be back!

While I was sleeping, I was startled by what sounded like screams or shouts—I couldn’t tell if they were from a Chinese or Taiwanese person. (Maybe they were annoyed by my loud snoring?) While most foreigners follow the rules, I found myself wishing that the few who don’t would just stay away from mountain huts. The mountain hut itself had modern restrooms, and I was truly grateful to have such convenient facilities right at the summit. The tea and apple pie at the Sky Lounge were absolutely fantastic! I was thrilled that the tea wasn’t just some generic bagged tea.

It was so huge that I couldn’t believe it was a mountain hut located at around 2,900 meters; I was also surprised by how clean the restroom was, with a heated, flush toilet. It was great that the lounge had a wide selection of manga.

Just as I’d heard, it was surprisingly large, even though it’s located on top of a mountain. It was a shame I arrived late and couldn’t fully enjoy my stay, but the facilities—including the rooms and restrooms—were clean, and I had a very pleasant stay. The location is also wonderful, and I’d definitely like to stay there again.

I think the staff are very courteous. Even though many of them are young, I could tell they provide thorough and attentive guidance. Both dinner and breakfast were plentiful and satisfying, but if I had to nitpick, since we were served oyaki this time, I think one serving of the main fish dish at breakfast would be enough.
