    Even though it's a mountain lodge, it has flush toilets! The women's restroom has a changing room. The food is delicious. The staff are well-trained. Water costs 700 yen, and draft and canned beer are 1,000 yen—a bit on the expensive side.

As for prices, water is scarce on the ridge and supplies have to be flown in by helicopter, so costs are unavoidably higher. We appreciate your understanding.     I camped in a tent. The restrooms were clean, which was nice. 500 ml of rainwater cost 200 yen. I wish they’d at least make it 100 yen, but with the recent water shortage, I guess it can’t be helped? A 500 ml beer cost 1,000 yen. I wish they’d at least make it 700 yen. Sorry for going on and on about money.

    I thought it might be better for those of us who aren’t exactly young if they served a slightly smaller portion of rice with the curry for dinner at first (though I do appreciate that we can get seconds).

    I stayed at the Kaiko Room this time. The staff were all very kind and told me all sorts of things, such as the origin of the name “Mt. Gorō.” I also want to thank you for letting me use the dining room even though it was raining, and for adjusting my check-out time to accommodate me.

    Overall, it was good. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. The umeboshi had a refreshing aroma and just the right amount of tartness—I really liked it. The room at Kaikodana was clean, but if possible, I’d like the sleeping area to be a little more spacious. I couldn’t even roll over in bed.

    Thank you for making my climb a success. We stayed in the second level of the “Kaiko Room.” However, since the space was only about half as wide as the communal sleeping areas in other mountain huts, we had to be considerate of the person next to us, which made it difficult to fall asleep. I also noticed that my footsteps echoed through the floor while I was lying down. Please address these issues in the future.

    The mountain cabin was in a great location with amazing views, and we had a wonderful time there and made some great memories.
