We have a request regarding the use of tablets during check-in. Despite the large number of staff members present, we felt that the guidance provided to first-time users was insufficient. It is not uncommon for first-time users checking in via tablet to feel confused because they do not know how to operate the device. We believe that if staff were a bit more attentive to users—for example, by offering verbal instructions on how to use the tablet or providing guidance as needed—it would allow for a smoother and more reassuring check-in experience. We would appreciate it if you could consider this suggestion to help improve your service in the future.

The service was rather impersonal; since it’s a mountain hut, I wasn’t expecting much, but I was still disappointed.

The staff were all very helpful. They handled my phone inquiries politely, which put me at ease as I prepared for my hike. It was a huge help to be able to ask the members of the Nagano Prefecture Mountain Accident Prevention Team about the weather and trail conditions without hesitation.

I spent the night in a tent at Goryu Mountain Lodge. Just like before (about thirty years ago), the campground was well-maintained. The views from night into morning were spectacular. If my stamina and schedule allow, I’ll definitely come back—when they have draft beer, that is (lol).

Thank you for your hospitality. The entire facility was clean and comfortable. In particular, the restrooms were odor-free and clean, and the private stalls were spacious enough to double as changing rooms. The meals were delicious as well. I was happy that for dinner, I could get seconds not only of rice but also of the curry sauce. Breakfast was served in a box resembling a Shokado bento, which made it look more upscale. The flavor balance was also excellent. It was a bit of a shame that the only lunch option was Cup Noodles. I suppose, given the kitchen’s circumstances, it might be difficult to serve a full lunch. I was happy to finally purchase the “I Love Mountains, I Love Sake” T-shirt that I’d been wanting for years. This is definitely a mountain lodge I’d love to visit again. But the Tomi Ridge is a long hike… (wry smile)

When I was buying a hiking badge at the gift shop, three people cut in front of me in line. The futons in the dormitory were placed too close together. I had requested a boxed breakfast, but due to the weather, I ended up eating it in the dining hall, where they served me miso soup. The female staff member who assisted me was very pleasant. It would have been nice if there had been a lounge-like area.
