It had been over a decade since I last stayed here, and I was pleased to see that the place had been renovated and looked beautiful. I especially appreciated that the restrooms were equipped with Washlet toilets. The curry for dinner was delicious, and I was very satisfied with breakfast, which included salt-grilled mackerel and ganmo. It’s truly wonderful to be able to stay so comfortably up in the mountains. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I heard it was renovated in 2024, so not only is it beautiful, but the facilities have also improved remarkably. Check-in is done by entering your reservation number or scanning a QR code; the dining hall has Wi-Fi; and the drying room has a jet heater that dries wet clothes in no time. The bedrooms were fully equipped with power outlets and even USB ports for charging smartphones, but what surprised me most was that the restrooms had Washlet bidets.

I was greeted with a cheerful welcome, which made for a very pleasant stay. Both the room and the restroom were kept very clean, so I felt completely at ease. Since my room was on the top shelf of the silkworm rack, it got a bit hot at night, though... The Goryu Curry is a little spicy, but it’s the kind of flavor that makes you crave it even after you’ve gone back down to the village. I’m planning to make the climb again just to eat this curry.
We’re so happy our cheerful greetings and well-kept rooms and restrooms made you feel at ease. We’re sorry the upper bunk was warm at night, and we’ll take your comment on board. Knowing you miss our spicy curry even after coming down the mountain is truly encouraging. We hope that curry brings you back to the mountains of Hakuba, in the Japanese Alps.
