The drying room has a powerful heater that dries clothes quickly, and the restroom is clean and spotless, complete with a Washlet. The food was delicious, too. The weather was so bad that we couldn’t climb Mt. Goryu, so I’d like to try again to make up for it—I’d definitely like to stay here next time as well.

It had been several years since my last visit, and I was very impressed by how clean the restrooms were and how the walls in the rooms and hallways had been redecorated. All the staff members spoke in a polite and courteous manner, which put me at ease. On the other hand, I stayed in a “Kaiko” room this time, but with seven people crammed into a single room, I felt quite cramped, so I gave it a negative rating in terms of comfort. Because there wasn’t enough space, I found myself constantly worrying about others, which prevented me from resting both mentally and physically. Additionally, the distance between me and my neighbors was so close that our hands and feet would frequently touch while sleeping, causing me to wake up repeatedly. For this reason, I also gave a negative rating regarding the ability to rest my body through sleep. This is strictly my personal opinion.

I stayed here in a tent. I was able to set up my tent on a flat campsite, so my camping experience was stress-free. The breakfast bento was delicious. Thank you very much.

I was finally able to visit Mt. Goryu, a place I’d wanted to go to for a long time. It had been a while since I’d stayed in a dorm-style room, but the sleeping platforms were spacious and more comfortable than I expected. I was also surprised by how clean the restrooms were. The curry for dinner was delicious, too. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I thought the meals were good. I was satisfied that dinner was a simple curry (with seconds available), but some of my traveling companions expressed dissatisfaction, saying, “We’d like one more dish.” The tap water wasn’t treated with disinfectant but had been boiled (though it did have a slight metallic taste), and it tasted better than I’d expected. It was nice that the restrooms were clean and didn’t smell. The rooms gave me the impression of being quite modern, with 100V power outlets, USB ports, and individual lighting for each section. My only complaint was that the futon was narrow (by recent mountain hut standards). It was a shame, given how good the room’s amenities (power outlets, lighting) were. Based on this point, I rated the room as “average.”

We used the campground. It was well-maintained, and the campsites were generously spaced—it was really nice. The views would have been great if the weather had been good, but unfortunately, we were hit by a blizzard and a whiteout. It would be nice if the mountain lodge and the gift shop offered a little more variety (especially in tea).

I was so grateful that the drying room was the most powerful one I’ve ever seen. I’ve stayed at dozens of mountain huts over the years, and this one is definitely number one.
