Since it was raining, even though check-in wasn’t until noon, they let me check in at 10 a.m. I really appreciated how they accommodated me based on the situation. The restrooms and changing rooms were clean, and I was really surprised to find that the restrooms had Washlet toilets. The mirror in the restroom sink area was large, making it easy to see myself. The drying room had a powerful jet heater that dried my wet clothes in no time—it was a huge help. It was especially great that I could even dry my wet shoes there. Breakfast had a stylish vibe—so much so that I found myself thinking, “Is this really a mountain lodge⁉️” Of course, the curry for dinner was delicious, too. All the staff members were efficient and friendly, allowing me to enjoy a comfortable stay at the mountain lodge. Thank you very much.

Following our guide’s advice, we stayed an extra night to avoid bad weather. Thanks to that, we were able to successfully traverse Goryu, Kirett, and Kashimayari. It was also thanks to the famous curry 🍛—I had two helpings over the two days, which gave me the energy I needed! Thank you so much 🥰

Since it wasn’t fully booked on a weekday, the four of us shared a room in the “Kaiko” dormitory that sleeps seven. The mattresses were about shoulder-width plus a little extra, but both the mattresses and the futons were clean, so we were able to sleep well. You can’t really expect luxury in a mountain hut, but since there were no partitions between beds, I felt it was a bit tough to sleep this close to complete strangers. It looks like it was renovated last year—the toilet has a Washlet and is spotless! The drying room dries clothes really well! The curry for dinner is a classic and delicious! The breakfast was served in lovely bowls and tasted great! There was a sign saying “Water is more precious than money!” Guests also pay 300 yen for 500 ml of boiled water. Since I don’t drink alcohol, I bought a sticker instead of the famous T-shirt. I think the reservation system is great because it ensures that only people who are actually staying there make reservations!

The staff was polite and friendly. I was glad they served not only canned beer but also draft beer. I bought the T-shirt I was looking for and was very satisfied. The spicy curry I had for dinner was delicious.

After spending the night at the Hieike Campground, I stayed here for my second night. Since it was the day after my stay at Hieike, I was genuinely happy to be able to pitch my tent right in front of the mountain lodge. The lodge made a sturdy impression and was kept clean and well-maintained without any unnecessary clutter. I felt reassured that the man at the lodge spoke to me right after I arrived and seemed to be keeping track of the hikers’ information. I slept comfortably on the well-leveled tent site, and above all, the sight of the setting sun was absolutely beautiful—a scene I’ll never forget.

The vinegar-seasoned rice in my breakfast bento was delicious.

Check-in was delayed, and it ended up being past 4:00 p.m. Since we were the last guests to check in that day, I know we caused you some concern, but I’m truly grateful for your kind and understanding response. During dinner, the staff’s service—with their smiles and cheerful greetings—really conveyed the strong camaraderie among the staff and the lively spirit of the lodge’s team, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The lodge’s drying room, restrooms, and washrooms were all clean and in excellent condition.

This was my first time camping in a tent, and I used the campground. I wonder which campground to use whenever I climb a mountain… I just hope there aren’t any hikers who choose a campground based solely on price. That’s how great both the people and the snack bar were.

Thank you very much for your hospitality. Both the dinner and the boxed lunch were delicious. The dining area wasn't crowded, and I appreciated that the tables on either side of mine were left empty. The next morning, we were blessed with good weather, and the view from the summit was spectacular. Thank you very much.

The staff’s customer service was really pleasant. The restrooms were clean, and I was happy that I could charge my devices anytime. I was also satisfied with the meal—spicy curry with unlimited refills. It would be nice if the bento boxes were made of crushable paper instead of plastic. The sleeping area was a bit narrow per person, but it was a big help that they left the spot next to me empty.
