I stayed here for the first time on July 3, 2023. I was blown away by the flower fields. Thank you for the thoughtful and kind service. The meals were delicious, too.

I stayed here in a tent. I was grateful to be able to use the restrooms and water (boiling recommended) for free. There was a pond nearby, so I was able to relax and unwind.

I’ve stayed here a few times specifically to see the Tsukumogusa, and since there are hardly any other guests at this time of year, I’ve been able to enjoy plenty of space and a quiet stay, which I’m very happy with. The online reservation system has helped me save cash, and the introduction of Starlink has made it much easier to access information whenever I want—I used to have to go outside all the time just to find a signal. Come to think of it, the path along the pond on the way back had been cleared of snow, so it was much easier to walk on.

I spent the night in a tent. I heard the helicopter was coming at 5:00, so I got up and waited while drinking coffee. Just as the helicopter came flying in with a whoosh and I was about to put on my shoes and go outside to protect the tent, a rescuer had already come out from the cabin. I thought, “Whoa, who’s that?” but I have to give a big “Good job!” to the young guy from the cabin who made sure to protect the tent!

I’m a frequent guest here. The meals were absolutely wonderful, and they gave me the energy I needed to set off on my journey. Early in the morning (at 4:00 a.m.), I think it was a staff member, but the footsteps in the dormitory hallway were quite loud, which woke me up—that was a bit disappointing. There was a sign in the hallway asking people to walk quietly. It’s a small thing, but I’d appreciate it if you could be more considerate in the future.

We really enjoyed this hut and we were well looked after by the staff. They made a huge effort to speak English to us which we appreciated. They were also able to give us trail conditions which was super important.
