It’s a mountain cabin by the pond that looks very charming from the outside. I think it would be great if there were a bench and a table by the pond where you could sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. If flying cars become a reality in the future, this place could become a popular resort destination. It’s often fully booked, so I wish it were a little easier to make a reservation.

The stargazing event was originally scheduled for 8:30 p.m., but they held it at 2:30 a.m. instead. I was really moved to see the weather clear up from hazy to perfectly clear by that time. Thank you so much!! ♪♪ I’d like to request that they do something about the smell in the restrooms.

Last year, we hiked straight from Tsugaike to Hakuba Sanso, but the weather turned bad in the afternoon and it was quite difficult, so this year we stayed at Oike to ensure a safer trip. One of my companions suffered a minor sprain at a spot just before Oike where there were lots of large rocks. Since we didn’t have any pain relief patches with us, I asked the staff at the mountain lodge reception if we could buy some. They didn’t have any for sale, of course, and just as I was feeling disappointed, they kindly gave me two from their first-aid kit, which was a huge help. From now on, I want to make sure I’m fully prepared for such accidents before heading into the mountains. We had a wonderful time and would love to visit again. Thank you for the lovely experience.

This was my first time staying at the Hakuba-kan Group. The staff at the front desk provided polite and easy-to-understand explanations, and the mountain lodge was just the right size—not too big—so I had a very comfortable stay. Thank you very much. I really appreciated the thoughtfulness of having the lounge open to guests and being able to get cold and hot water for free at any time. There are two things I’d appreciate if you could improve for next time. Since others have mentioned this as well, I’d like to bring it up. ① It would be great if you could keep the fire going in the drying room for just one hour. It would be a huge help to have our sweat-soaked clothes dry. ② I’d like the seasoning on the dinner dishes to be a bit stronger. Since it was the hot month of August, we were sweating a lot and craving salt. I’m writing this on behalf of others around me who commented that the mild seasoning made it hard to eat much rice. The views of Hakuba are amazing—it might just become my second home in the mountains. I look forward to staying with you again.

I booked the plan that included breakfast and dinner, but due to a change in my itinerary, I asked if breakfast could be changed to a boxed lunch. Since my stay was coming up soon and the hotel was fully booked, it was a huge help that they accommodated my request to switch to a boxed lunch. Thank you so much for accommodating my last-minute request.

I really liked the simple, no-frills design—it felt more comfortable than a luxurious mountain lodge. The lodge staff were very courteous and helpful. It was a big help that water and hot water were provided free of charge. The mattress pads are thin, so you might want to bring a cushion; I ended up sleeping on top of the comforter. The late-night stargazing session was a lot of fun. It would be even more appreciated if we could use the lounge and the water and hot water until noon the next day.

I appreciated that they were careful not to pack the upper-level room to capacity. (It’s really hard to get in and out when there are six people up there.)

Since it was the busy season, other than the fact that there were six people per room, we had a very comfortable stay.

We had originally planned to stay at Hakuba Sanso, but due to the weather, we ended up staying at Hakuba Oike Sanso instead. They were very accommodating despite our last-minute reservation. They gave us a thorough explanation right away, which put my mind at ease since it was my first time staying at a mountain lodge. The lounge area was spacious, and we were able to really relax there. It was also a huge help that they provided cold and hot water. At first, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to look things up since there was no cell service, but I was relieved to find Wi-Fi, which allowed me to stay in touch—it was great. Hakuba Oike Mountain Lodge is in a fantastic location; it was the perfect place to rest when I was tired, allowing me to tackle the next day’s hike refreshed. I was also surprised by the meals—I couldn’t believe such a luxurious meal was available in the mountains. Since I was so hungry, I was delighted to find out I could have seconds—it was truly wonderful. I enjoyed the sunset and the starry sky, and after setting out early in the morning, I made it to Mt. Hakuba and was able to watch the sunrise. It was a wonderful experience, and I’m extremely satisfied. It’s a lodge that makes me want to go back again. Thank you very much.
