Compared to other mountain lodges, I felt that this one prioritized employees over guests. I get the impression that the owner of Hakuba-kan isn’t keeping a close enough eye on things. The facilities are very good, though.

I think the location is good, but it was inconvenient that all water and hot water had to be purchased (I don’t mind paying, but I felt that rates for lodge guests could be a little lower). The staff’s friendliness was average, and it felt a bit off that they treated guests differently (the information they provided clearly varied). First-time guests are particularly sensitive to such details and are more likely to feel uneasy in such an out-of-the-ordinary setting. The curry for dinner was reasonably tasty, and I appreciated that we could have as many seconds as we wanted. I’m well aware that the quality of mountain huts varies across the Northern Alps and that the accommodations change over time, so I understand that it’s impossible to make a definitive judgment based solely on online reviews.

Check-in went smoothly since they used a tablet, so there were no lines—I was glad it went so well. Payment was by card, so that went smoothly, too. The room wasn’t crowded; it was a silkworm room, but it was spacious, which was nice. The bathroom was clean, and it felt great.

I think the conditions here are pretty good for a campsite. The restrooms are very clean.

This was my first time camping in a tent. The ground was nicely leveled, so it was easy to set up the tent. I ordered a bento box. The salmon bento had no bones, which made it easy to eat even in the dark inside the tent—that was a big help. The restrooms were clean, too. I was wearing a headlamp, so it wasn’t a problem, but it would be helpful if they could turn on the lights.

As soon as I turned on the dryer, it dried in seconds. Thank you. The heater in the hallway gets really warm as soon as I turn it on, too.

I visited the long-awaited Goryu Mountain Lodge in search of a slightly early fall foliage season. The receptionist’s warm welcome at check-in had me filled with anticipation for my stay at the lodge!! It rained that day, but thanks to the clean and incredibly powerful drying room, none of my clothes got wet. The meals came with seconds, and the miso soup was especially delicious!! The room, restroom, and washroom were all very clean. Thank you for seeing me off with a smile 😊

The curry rice, miso soup, and dessert for dinner were especially delicious, and of course, breakfast was great too. I also appreciated that I could have as many seconds as I wanted. The room was a bit cold, but I was glad there were working electrical outlets. I was very satisfied with the Wi-Fi on the first floor. I was also pleased with the drying room and the washlet in the restroom.

I was surprised at how clean the cabin was, especially the restroom. It was really helpful that each silkworm rack had its own power outlet and charging station. The drying room was spacious, too. However, since there was only one table where you could use a stove, I felt it would be awkward to sit there if someone else was already there. The breakfast portion was just right, and it was delicious. The curry for dinner was also delicious, but I would have been even happier if there had been one more small side dish included. The staff were very friendly, and overall, I was very satisfied with this mountain lodge. Thank you for your hospitality. Thank you very much.
