I stayed here in a tent. The ground at the campsite was neatly leveled and easy to use. At first, I was a bit taken aback by the layout of the private restroom stalls—which allowed you to sit while looking out at the mountains—and the large windows, but personally, I found this unique atmosphere to be a positive experience. There was one thing that bothered me, so I lowered my overall rating slightly. I pitched my tent in the spot closest to the benches outside the mountain hut, but due to the wind direction, I was bothered several times by the smell of cigarette smoke from people smoking on the benches. For non-smokers, the smell of cigarette smoke in nature is particularly bothersome. In line with the current trend in modern society toward designated smoking areas in various places, I believe that if designated smoking areas were established, non-smokers could also enjoy a pleasant time there.

At the restrooms inside Goryu Mountain Lodge, when I first saw them with the doors open, I couldn't tell which was which, and I almost walked into the women's restroom by mistake, so I thought it might be a good idea to use different colors to distinguish between the men's and women's restrooms.

Some of the front desk staff have a less-than-ideal attitude toward guests; they don’t respond when you greet them. It’s nice that they provide weather information. There’s no lounge, so there’s no place to socialize. I was glad they kept the drying room properly heated. The room was clean, and so was the bathroom. It was nice that we could get seconds at meals.

In this Reiwa era, the silkworm room lacks partitions and feels lacking in privacy. I also found the dinner to be rather sparse and lacking compared to mountain huts operated by other chains. The curry itself was delicious, though.

It was surprisingly clean and comfortable for a mountain lodge. Honestly, the fact that the toilet was a Washlet was nothing short of astonishing. Furthermore, accepting cashless payments is a wonderful initiative that defies the conventional wisdom about mountain lodges.

I was surprised at how clean the bathroom and sink area were. The room was comfortable, too. I couldn’t adjust the portion size of the curry for dinner, so I ended up leaving a little bit—I felt bad about that—but they kindly switched my breakfast to a bento box, which had vinegared rice and a large umeboshi, making it easy to eat.
So glad the cleanliness of the restroom and washroom stood out to you, and that your room was comfortable throughout your stay. We're sorry the curry portion at dinner wasn't quite right for you. For breakfast, we prepare a boxed meal with vinegared rice and a generous umeboshi, designed to be easy to enjoy on the go.
