・I was glad the bath was clean. ・Since I arrived at the inn late and wasn’t very hungry, I appreciated that dinner was a buffet where I could just eat whatever I wanted.

The explanations provided during check-in and about the facilities were very thorough and easy to understand. The dinner portions were more than enough. The breakfast bento was also plenty, but considering the selection of side dishes, it seemed a bit pricey—though I suppose that’s just how it is in the mountains.

I felt the meal was very meager. When you need energy to climb a mountain, a meal like this really brings you down. ·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·. We also stayed at Hakuba Oike Mountain Lodge, which was part of the same group, and the meals there were even more basic. The staff seemed busy but treated us kindly. That’s why I found it particularly disappointing that the simplicity of the meals stood out so much.

The service and the room were both great, but even at this time of year, they use thick down comforters, and since the person sharing my room wanted to keep the window closed, it was too hot to sleep comfortably.

I was completely satisfied with the meals, the bath, and the restroom. However, even though we thought five people would fit fine in a six-tatami-mat room, we felt we needed some ventilation, so we left the window and door slightly open for the night. Maybe we talked so much that the air got thin? We stayed here this time as a stopover before climbing Mt. Hakuba, but it seems like you could relax just by taking a stroll through Tsugaike Nature Park. I’d definitely like to stay here again.

I stayed in a shared room with bunk beds. I had the top bunk. It was narrower than I expected. I wish there had been a shelf or something. Plus, there was a gap between the bed and the wall, so there was a chance things might fall through to the floor. And above all, the room was hot and smelled of sweat. The futon felt sticky, too. So, it’s a good idea to bring a mask and a fitted sheet. I took a bath after dinner and had the place all to myself. That was nice, but since I’d been sweating so much while sleeping, it was a wash…

It was a very comfortable place to stay the night before our hike. When staying the night before a hike, breakfast times are always a concern. It would be very helpful if those times were clearly listed on the website or at the time of booking. Since we want to complete the steep climb to Tenguhara while it’s still cool, having breakfast served early, as it is now, is a huge help.
