    Hakuba Oike Mountain Lodge is in a great location, right next to Lake Hakuba Oike, so I was able to enjoy the coffee I bought at the lodge while taking in the scenery. I was happy that the coffee was inexpensive. Dinner was delicious, too.

    We stayed in Room 7 on the upper floor. The only pillows available were square ones, so we all ended up not using them. The next day, when we saw other rooms, we noticed they had regular pillows, which is when we realized for the first time that ours was the only room without them. It was disappointing. Please provide regular pillows in all rooms.

    It was nice that the meal had changed from the usual curry to a hamburger steak, but since other lodges have also improved, this is my rating. Many small lodges have a nice atmosphere, but even in that regard, this one falls a bit short.

    It was a comfortable campsite—flat and with few small stones. The restrooms were close by and clean. Although it got a little crowded on Friday, the people around us were considerate, so we were able to rest and sleep well.

    I stayed in a tent at Oike. The staff were very courteous, and I had a pleasant stay. Check-out was supposed to be at 10:00 a.m., but I thought it would be nice if they could let me check out at 11:00 a.m. so I could enjoy a hike after leaving my gear there.

    I stayed here in a tent. This was my first time hiking this route starting from Tsugaike Kogen, and the trail was exceptionally well-maintained. The mountain lodge is also in a great location near the lake, and I think it’s a wonderful place to stay where you can enjoy the seasonal flowers. Unfortunately, the weather was poor this time for the view from Mt. Korenka toward Mt. Hakuba, so I plan to stay at this lodge again if I have the chance.
