Since it was a tent, I couldn't see the details, but it gave me the impression that it was well-maintained. I also liked that there was a place to throw away cans.

・The mountain lodge staff worked together harmoniously and seemed to be enjoying themselves, which put me at ease and made for a pleasant stay. ・The restrooms and sinks were new and very clean, making me feel as if I were staying at a lodge. ・The breakfast was presented like it would be at a traditional Japanese inn, giving it a very upscale feel.

Basically, everything is expensive.

Since rain was forecast for the afternoon, I arrived at Goryu Sanso in the morning, but check-in didn’t start until 12:00, so I had to wait out in the cold (sob). I think they let me check in a little early, though. I was glad they switched my breakfast for the next day from a bento box to a meal in the dining hall. I was stunned to find the “Silkworm Room” had five sets of 60-centimeter futons, but in reality, there were only three of us in a five-person room. I wish they’d told us that from the start. I’d assumed four more people were coming later, so I’d been crammed in there the whole time… For dinner, I would’ve liked a small salad. Wi-Fi is available only in the dining hall. Bottled water is 300 yen for 500 ml. As someone who had to cut the trip short due to the weather, the 5,000-yen repeat guest discount during the season was a real treat!

We stayed in a private room for three people, just the two of us. It was clean, well-soundproofed, and equipped with power outlets, USB ports, and hangers—a room well worth the price (20,500 yen per night, including dinner). The toilet had a Washlet. A representative from the Mountain Safety Association was on-site, and it was great to get advice on hiking routes and other tips after dinner. The gift shop closes at 5:30 p.m., so you’ll need to do your shopping before dinner! Cooled water and hot water (500 ml for 300 yen) are available 24 hours a day.

Based on the prompt and courteous responses I received to my online inquiries, I gave the highest rating for customer service. Thank you for accommodating my numerous schedule changes. Dinner was curry and rice, and I was delighted that they happily let me have seconds.

I was surprised at how clean the restroom was.

We’re a group of four middle-aged guys who stayed for one night at the end of July. When we arrived at the mountain lodge, the staff’s explanation was very quick and stress-free. I was surprised at how clean our room (private room) was. What surprised me even more was that the toilet seat had a shower nozzle attached to it. Also, the curry rice for dinner was delicious, and we really liked that we could get unlimited refills of the curry sauce. Unfortunately, we couldn’t enjoy the view from Mt. Goryu this time due to cloudy skies, so we’d like to try again. Thank you very much.

The restroom was surprisingly clean. I was amazed that a mountain lodge could have a restroom like that. I’m sorry, but since there were no ingredients in the curry roux itself, I rated dinner a 3. Maybe I just got a bad batch. The curry itself tasted great, though.
