All the staff members were very polite and always smiling, which made my stay very pleasant. I was so, so happy when they served me miso soup and tea while I was eating my bento in the morning. Thank you very much. I’d love to stay here again someday.

The curry I’d been looking forward to for dinner was delicious, and the staff worked efficiently—it was a great experience. The renovated restrooms were clean and comfortable to use. The weather was wonderful, too, making for a fantastic hike. It was a shame that the T-shirt I wanted was sold out, so I’d love it if we could shop online after coming down the mountain (exclusively for guests who stayed overnight)!

I was surprised at how clean the restrooms were. Dinner was delicious, and the staff were very helpful. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that the futons were a bit narrow—if I reached out, I’d end up touching the person next to me! Well, I guess that’s just the way it is! Breakfast wasn’t included.

Stayed at the Silkworm Shelf on a room-only basis. [Reservations and Same-Day Check-In] Booking online and checking in via tablet made the process smooth and hassle-free. I think it would be fine if member registration at the time of booking were optional. [Gift Shop] Cashless payments are accepted, so cash isn’t needed. They were selling five types of mountain badges (800 yen), three types of tenugui (1,500 yen), and two types of T-shirts in several colors (price unconfirmed), among other items. [Room (Kaiko-dana)] Although it was designed for 8 people, since we were three groups of two, there was plenty of space and it was comfortable. Some cabins can be partitioned with curtains, but this one was an open space. Bedding consisted of a folding mattress about 5 cm thick and 60 cm wide, one comforter, and one pillow. Even though it was October, I didn’t feel cold at all—even wearing just a jacket over my daytime clothes. You place your luggage at the foot of the bed, put your shoes in the provided plastic bags, and leave them in the hallway outside your room. I think it’s a good idea to bring your own shoe bag so you can easily identify your shoes. Lights out is at 8:30 PM, and at 4:00 AM, all the lights in the room turn on. [Power Outlets] Each room is equipped with power outlets. I believe there were 3 AC outlets and 3 USB (Type-C) ports. Since they’re all concentrated on one wall, roommates need to coordinate with each other when using them. There are also outlets in the luggage storage area right outside the cabin. 【Cell Service】 I confirmed reception for docomo and Rakuten Mobile in front of the gift shop. I confirmed docomo reception in the dining hall. Both networks had no signal in the silkworm shelves area. 【Kitchen】 Next to the drying room, there is one table that seats six and five chairs. (Can accommodate up to 11 people total.) Since space is tight, users need to be considerate during peak hours. There’s also a table in front of the cabin, so depending on the weather and time of day, using the outdoor area might be preferable. 【Restrooms & Washrooms】 The facilities are new and felt clean. Accommodates 4–5 people. The women’s restroom has a changing room? [Other] There are three sinks in the hallway leading to the drying room. (They provide only a small amount of rainwater.) Vending machines sell beer, Hyoketsu, Coke, and Nectar. (Prices unconfirmed.) Boiled rainwater is available at the entrance. (For a fee; price unconfirmed.) The dining hall can be used as a lounge from the end of dinner service until lights out. From in front of the lodge, we were able to see both the sunrise and Mount Fuji at the same time. [Overall Impression] Thanks to the benefits of digital upgrades, the lodge was very convenient, and combined with the staff’s thoughtfulness, it made for a comfortable stay.

[Customer Service] The staff were all very friendly—that was the best part and what I appreciate most. [Room] Maybe because it wasn’t crowded, there was plenty of space per person (only 4 of us in a 6-person room), which was nice, but the futons were thin, and since my room was on the far end (near the restroom), it was a little chilly. Conversely, the rooms closer to the dining hall were warm, so comfort levels varied significantly depending on the room. It’s nice that there are electrical outlets. 【Breakfast】Although the portions were small, I appreciated the wide variety of options. I also liked that it included a large umeboshi (pickled plum). You can get seconds of rice and miso soup. [Dinner] It’s nice that you can get seconds of the curry and miso soup. Considering that more and more lodges are serving fancier meals these days, I suppose this is standard. The dining hall was cramped, with seats packed so tightly that my elbows kept bumping into the person next to me—it felt quite uncomfortable. It was a shame that almost no water came out of the sink in the washroom.

The woman with the curly hair who checked me in was rude and unpleasant. The space per person in the dormitory is too small. The only ingredients in the curry rice for dinner were one sausage and a little broccoli. Unbelievable!
