I stayed in the top bunk of a bunk bed. I slept very comfortably. Dinner was delicious, too. The bento box was kind of like a "guy's meal," but it was delicious.
From StaffGlad to hear the top bunk was comfortable for you. We're happy both the dinner and the boxed lunch were to your liking. Thank you for the photos too, they look delicious. We hope to welcome you back to the mountains of Hakuba, in the Japanese Alps.

After descending Mt. Hakuba, we stayed here on our final day with plenty of time to spare. I’m so glad we didn’t rush through and hop on the gondola. The baths were wonderful—they washed away all my sweat and fatigue. Both dinner and breakfast featured a wide variety of dishes and were truly luxurious; I was so impressed that I thought, “This isn’t a mountain lodge—it’s a hotel!” 🥰 Thank you so much for your hospitality.
From StaffThank you for staying with us with time to spare on your last day, after descending from Mt. Hakuba. We're glad you were able to board the gondola smoothly. We're happy the bath let you thoroughly wash away the sweat and fatigue from your climb. It's an honor to hear both dinner and breakfast, with their generous variety, felt hotel-like in quality. Thank you for sharing your photos as well. We hope to welcome you back to the mountains of Hakuba, in the Japanese Alps.

It was a place to stay that was somewhere between a mountain cabin and a hotel, and I had a very comfortable stay there.

Thank you so much for your warm hospitality. It’s right next to the ropeway station, close to the trailhead, and the views are amazing 😍 The room was a dormitory-style room with bunk beds, but it had curtains, and there were outlets by the light switches in each space, which was really helpful. The bath was fantastic, too ♪
From StaffWe're happy to hear you found the hospitality warm. It's great that you enjoyed being so close to the trailhead from the ropeway station, along with the views. Thank you for noticing the curtains and outlets in the shared room too. We're glad you liked the bath as well. Thank you also for the photos. We hope to welcome you back to the mountains of Hakuba, in the Japanese Alps.

It’s about a 10-minute walk from the ropeway station. Seating is assigned. Dinner includes a clay-plate grill dish, which is very satisfying. You can get beer from a vending machine or order it with your meal. In the evening, the chain around the nature park is removed, allowing you to come and go as you please. The bathhouse is equipped with shampoo and body soap, so you can thoroughly wash off the sweat. I chose a shared Japanese-style room. The standard futons provided a good night’s sleep, allowing me to rest up for the next day. Since you can set out before the ropeway arrives in the morning, the hiking trails aren’t crowded, which is great.
From StaffWe are glad you were satisfied with the access from the ropeway station and the dinner with grilled dishes on a hot stone plate. Thank you also for the kind words about how the beer is offered and the shampoo and body soap in the bath. It is wonderful to hear you slept well in the shared room and appreciated being able to leave before the trails get crowded — this truly encourages us.

I booked a shared room with a traditional Japanese-style floor. It was a room on the second floor with a capacity of four people, and we stayed there as a pair. There was only one other guest in the room, so the three of us were quite comfortable. There’s a lounge on the second floor, which was also very comfortable. The bath area had four washing stations, and while the tub was just big enough for three people, it was plenty spacious given the room’s capacity, and it wasn’t crowded. The dinner dishes—breaded white fish (I think?) and the pork hot pot—were absolutely delicious. Draft beer was 900 yen, but I thought the single-cup serving of local sake at 500 yen was a great deal. “Daiseikei” is one of my favorite sakes. Except for draft beer, payment was made at the front desk; perhaps the staff wasn’t very familiar with credit cards or QR code payments, as it took a little while. Breakfast was a semi-buffet where guests served themselves lettuce, cucumbers, dessert (Fruits?), and natto—I thought it was a well-thought-out service. (You also serve yourself rice and miso soup.) I stayed at Tsugaike Sanso the night before, and my hike consisted solely of a round trip to Tenguhara and a stroll through the Tsugaike Nature Park. The weather wasn’t great, and I didn’t get to see the Hakuba Three Peaks even once, but I think Tsugaike Hutte is a lodge with a wonderful location.
From StaffWe are glad the shared room on the second floor gave you enough space to relax, and that you also made use of the lounge. Thank you for the kind words about the breaded white fish and the pork hot pot at dinner. We appreciate you noticing the price difference between the draft beer and the local sake. We are sorry that payment at the front desk took a little longer than it should have. We are also happy the half-buffet style at breakfast worked well for you. Hearing that you found the location of Tsugaike Hutte wonderful means a lot to us. Thank you for the photos as well. We hope to welcome you back to the mountains of Hakuba, in the Japanese Alps.

I stayed here before climbing Mt. Hakuba. Three of us shared a traditional Japanese-style dormitory room; with one other guest, there were four of us in total. There was a wooden platform in the corner where we could store our backpacks, so there was plenty of space. For dinner, as is typical at a mountain lodge, the main course was whitefish, along with pork sukiyaki served in small pots—it was a luxurious meal and very delicious. Both the restrooms and the bath were clean and comfortable. I feel that prices at hotels and other accommodations have gone up recently due to the influx of international tourists, but considering the facilities and meals, I think this is a great value. The gift shop had a wider selection of postcards than Hakuba Sanso. I bought a few and mailed them from the post office at the summit.
From StaffThank you very much for staying at Tsugaike Hut! Thank you also for sharing your wonderful photo. Our staff enjoyed seeing the delicious-looking meal you captured. We're delighted that you chose our hut before your climb of Mt. Hakuba and that you had a comfortable stay. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the meals, facilities, and clean restrooms. We're also happy that you found something you liked in our shop and chose our postcards as souvenirs from your trip. We look forward to welcoming you again in the Japanese Alps!

At check-in, I received advice regarding my itinerary, including the weather forecast, which allowed me to think things through calmly and make a decision. I’d like to express my gratitude once again. I hope to find an opportunity to visit again.
